Thank you! I was actually going to wait to publicize the new business on FB but it just kind of got out there even though I don't have everything figured out yet.

Here are some pictures of Mishka from my little natural light experiment yesterday!














It's been raining all weekend so he's been incredibly bored. We did go walk on an off road bike trail yesterday afternoon but it was really hot. I'm hoping to be able to try bikejoring on it later this year, but it's surrounded by water so we'll have to make sure our on-by's and leave it's are solid. Lol.

Oooh I absolutely love what you're doing with the natural lighting and your photography in general! I really hope you get your business up and running because you can definitely make something with your photo talent. I would definitely take Lycus to you lol   

And Mishka's nose is looking so much better!

I love these. So artistic, and what a great model! Do you do any adjustments with Photoshop lighting/tone/contrast-wise after the fact, or is it au naturel?

Some days it looks better and others it looks worse. :/ He's on another 2 week round of anti fungal meds so we'll see how that goes.

I wish they were straight out of the camera! Lol. I do use Photoshop to spruce some things up. I run a couple of actions and then I will adjust accordingly and will tweak lighting, contrast, etc.

I went through Mishka's scrapbook and I have to say he was such a cute little baby! He has grown beautifully! My favorite picture has to be the one of him in the pool with his eyes closed!

Aw! Great pictures! Maybe you could get in touch with a rescue or shelter and do some volunteer work to build your portfolio, take pictures of pups up for adoption. Just a thought. I love your photography!

^ That's an awesome idea. Shelters are always looking for folks to take nice shots of their animals for adoption for their Web site, social media, etc. I'm sure they'd love to have you do it on a volunteer basis -- it's a win-win for you and them!

Thank you guys! I definitely plan on getting in touch with our local shelter and rescues to see when they would be able to set up times for me to take pictures of their adoptable animals. My biggest hurdle is I work M-F 8-4:30pm so I would have to do it on the weekends.

I have a draft email typed up right now and plan on sending it Monday when everyone returns to normal hours.

Ashleigh, you've totally inspired me! I got out my cheapo 50 mm today and took about 400 pix of Diz... Got about 3 decent ones...   I'm going to post them on his scrapbook soon.

An update! Mishka is 18 months now!

Ashleigh, Mishka is so gorgeous. Your photo quality is superb. I wish my grass was that thick and green. If you lived closer I would totally pay you to photograph my 2 girls. Keep up your excellent work, it will pay off.

Mishka is a stunning Husky...love his bone structure

Ashleigh, I thought I was looking at a magazine, you photos are incredible, as always, but you truly capture the spirit of the moment. Btw, just wondering but is Mishka and Willow related? They have such similar faces. Now for my corny moment, but Mishka's mask reminds me of a shortened Cheetah mask(my favorite big cat). He's beautiful.
