| By big, she is a little shorter than what I would imagine the average female husky stands at. Malfoy is normal 8 week, 9 week tuesday, puppy size. I gave them each a 'picnic bone' to gnaw on and after about one minute Malfoy lost interest in his and wants hers. He keeps trying to play with her and she clearly does not want to. Her tail stops wagging and she barks aggressively at him. He is undeterred though, it seems like he thinks she is playing cause he is chattering at her, tail wagging, keeping it up. While I don't want her to hurt him, I don't want to put him in a different room. Should I let her finally snap at him? What is proper protocol for something like this. Maui is a very laid back dog, I have never really heard her bark like this till now so I am just concerned if he pushes her too far she will attack him. |

| I would say that Maui's behavior is going as far as I'd want to let it go, for either dog's sake. If you wanted to teach Malfoy the boundary, you would redirect him when she started showing signs that she was no longer enjoying things (tail stops wagging, growling, barking).
The reason I would intervene here is because the next stage for the annoyed dog, instinctually, is to tag the perpetrating dog (or in some cases, flee for its life). There is a member on here who has a husky pup that got tagged by an adult husky. It will do damage, even if only by accident. Not to mention that Maui is giving ample signs that she isn't enjoying herself, and is getting pushed to the point of tagging the dog. She shouldn't be forced to put up with that all the way until that point. It will teach her a bad habit too. |

| Do you have a crate for your female? I would suggest you let her enjoy her treat in there while you teach your pup boundaries. |

| What is tagging in terms of dogs? She does not have a crate and as far as I am aware has never been in one. I will try to redirect him away when she gets peeved with him though. I just want them to get along. |

| Its not really a unified dog term. Its just a quick bite that means to basically say "f*ck off" in dog language. |

| We use body blocking when this happens. We pretty much just prevent Crispin from approaching any dog that growls or barks at him unless we know the other dog is barking in a playful way. |
