The last pet expo I went to with my sibe I ran into another red/white sibe and I talked to the owner. Their sibe was noticeably bigger than mine (my boy is a full grown adult 22" tall and 50 lbs) and the other sibe's owner informed me that theirs was a 9 month old puppy. Btw, I get the puppy questions far more than I get the wolf questions. _________________

| I think it's at least to an extent a regional thing. In the FL panhandle I was CONSTANTLY asked if Ghost was a wolf. Imagine, in the most back woods, redneck, southern accent: "that a woof?!". There, the only ones that really knew Ghost was a Husky were the kids, and that's thanks to Disney. Up here in MD though, I have yet to be asked the wolf question. I think around here it's just that there's more exposure to northern breeds. Across the board though, I get the "well she's still a puppy, right? Still has a lot of growing left, huh?". Ghost is an inch out of breed standard in height, and almost max for weight... _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. White Husky automatically equals confusion for a white GSD. |

| I also get this one....does your dog bite? Yes is my usual answer and I walk away. I try to be a little nicer with kids. For many of our neighborhood kids, my dog is the first one they have pet. Many kids here are too afraid of dogs. One little girl ran into oncoming traffic as we got near to a corner - my husband had to stop her. |

| I was walking out of my apartment complex on Monday and some kid asked me, "IS THAT A UH...GREYHOUND?" He was adorable and I told him no, that she was a husky. He said, "Oh MAN! I'm always getting my dog breeds mixed up!"
Made my day. |

| I get the same thing. I just smile and say "ah ha". No point in discussing it, as when i have trued to educate people about the breed, i get a reaction like I must be some sort if a snob!! What sucks us there is a puppy mill (booo!) breeder local here that cranks out these god-awful dogs that people here thinks huskies look like. Urgh |

| I get sooo annoyed with the little kids yelling "ITS A SNOW DOG!" at me EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm out with the dogs. I understand it's "cute"..but I'm not a kid person and it's usually the same two kids who do it every time. BWAH!
HAHA..I just remembered one time I was out socializing Sheba when she was a baby and some guy asked me if she was a German Shepard. I just smiled and said no..she's a Siberian Husky. Then he says oh, well she's at LEAST 6 months old in a really douche baggy way. I just smiled again and said no..she's only two months old in a less polite way. He got really red in the face and shut up after that.
I have a REALLY low tolerance for questions like that..so I try to keep my mouth shut as often as I can. I have a quick mouth and don't always think about what I say before I say it.
But sometimes I'm just like COME ON BRO! WHERE DID THE COMMON SENSE IN THIS WORLD GO?! |

| I had one lady at the dog park ask me what breed kao was because she was so small and couldnt be a pure breed (she apparently was an expert on huskies). Kao is 10 months old and 45lbs I just laughed and asked her if she wanted me to pull out her registry papers. She then went on to talk horribly about the lady i bought Kao from and how her dog turn out soo anti-social and blah blah blah. Kao is the most friendly and playful dog at the park! I dont know why people think they can say stuff like that to other people! Shes my dog and i love her, so shut your mouth!
I try and just not let it bug me, 2 out of 3 times at the park this happens. |

| We recently were told Crispin absolutely does not weigh 52 lbs. He's simply too small. Mind you Crispin is seven months old and 23" at the withers. We had just taken him to the vet a few days prior to get weighed for his Heartguard so we knew pretty well that he weighs over 51 lbs. It bugged me because he could be full grown at his height and weight and it wouldn't be abnormal.
We're almost fortunate in that since he's husky/GSD we're never really offended when they ask if he's a shepherd because he is (as far as we know). The paws thing has been funny for us because until about a month ago his paws were disproportionately large for his body so it did look like he was going to be massive. |

| OMG I was outside with Balon this morning and a passerby stopped to see him. She noticed he was missing a tooth on the bottom row of teeth, and she backed up like he was the devil. I looked at her and she said wow he must be kinda mean to have knocked out a tooth. I started laughing and she just looked at me, I told her "he did not knock out a tooth, he lost his baby tooth and nothing replaced it, that simple. JEEZ! Balon mean, never, he would lick the bad guy! |

| uncontained dogs... this is driving me absolutely nuts.
i was just walking blu down the road i live on, i live in a very rural area and no one around here has a fence around their property, and you would think that no one even knows what a leash is. and i was walking past this older womens house who has a boxer mix (iirc she told me she was a boxer/pit mix) and i've met the dog a few times before, but this time i was walking by with blu and this lady has no fence what so ever around her property, no leash on her dog... not even so much as a collar. the dog runs up to us and blu gets excited thinking it is play time so he goes to snif her butt and she growls and lunges at him. i had to yank blu up under my arm and pin her dog down with a knee and my other hand. while she just stood there stareing at the whole situation while i was yelling "lady come and get your bleeping dog" after she took her inside i told her that if this happens again i am calling animal control... there's a leash law for a reason.
i did get bitten from the whole thing, which i dont really care about it's just this is my 9th time being attacked while walking blu all because apperently no one except me knows what the hell a leash is. this is starting to get really old, maybe if i stopped being nice and called the cops for a change they would learn their lesson... but i doubt the cops would do anything to begin with.
uggh, whatever... guess i should go clean up my hand and get a bandaid now lol. |

| Took Vegeta out for a potty break just now and was stopped by a girl about my age asking about him. Normally it wouldn't bother me but I'm in flip flops, basketball shorts and a hoodie and it is POURING rain and shes all nice under her poncho and umbrella. Ok, I can let that slide, shes fairly attractive, I'm single, chick magnet, this could work for me. Then she asks if she's a wolf. I look up from unwrapping his leash from around her leg and just blankly stare at her and remark, "yes, HE is a wolf. the apartment complex lets me have a wolf puppy. I actually have a bear cub and two month tiger in my room, want to see?" And with that she did the whole huff and stomped off. Normally I'm not such an asshole but come on. I'm soaked, had a really long day and clearly just want him to do his thing and go, not socialize.
Is he a wolf?! I don't know anybody that owns a wolf, do you? Does anybody in south Georgia? Lets be real....kids these days I swear.
Ok done with my story/rant.

| Panzer gets called a coyote or a wolf mix all the time.
Soshanna always gets called a coyote mix.
The really annoying one is when I get asked if they are all related. As though my Alaskan Husky, my Dingo mix, and my Lab mix look a lot alike, aside from color.
When I explain breeds, Panzer mostly gets blank faces and "why doesn't she look like a husky?"
Soshanna gets "isn't she wild, isn't she vicious, isn't she dangerous, is she tame at all?"
For a while I was just making up breeds for Soshanna. African Water Hound, Truffle Terrier, Chupacabra, Taiwanese Meat Dog, etc.

| Bahahaha chupacabra. That's a good one. Oh the things ignorant people say. Generally if someone is well intentioned I just nod and smile. If they are acting like a twerp I just pretend they don't exist or give my super bitch look. The "I'm busy and important and me and my dog don't have time for imbisules" look. |
