| I don't want to come off as whiny, I love Pippa and I knew what I was getting into, but there are days where I begin to question my sanity.
Pippa's about a year old, give or take a few months. I've had her since August and she's definitely settled in some since then, but I feel like I can never tire her out at all. There have only been two occasions where she was tired enough to just lay down on the floor and sleep. I run with her every day, we average about two miles, and she goes to the dog park three or four times a week for an hour at least. I do training with her at home everyday and she's good about staying focused during that.
It's not that she acts out or behaves badly, she just never seems like she can settle down. We'll be sitting on the couch and she just walks around the apartment constantly. Smelling things, checking the kitchen floor for new crumbs, poking me for attention, etc.
It doesn't bother me, I just feel like it's abnormal. I understand they're active dogs and, generally speaking, aren't couch potatoes, but I have to wonder if she'll ever settle down? Advice or am I just over-thinking this? |

| We got Lola in July and she is a year and a couple months. We have learned that three miles is her magic number. That means she will lay down and sleep! Good luck on finding your magic number! |

| Murphy still has days like that and she's almost 2. When she gets super antsy and exercise doesn't do it we give her puzzles to figure out (or a frozen Kong). Those puzzle toys are awesome! |

Anything by Kyjen or Kong are good. Nina Ottosson makes good ones as well. |

| We have a few that we rotate

We won this one in a raffle; its a hard one and she hasn't fully figured it out yet. This lady's puzzles are expensive, but they all look good! http://hiphound.com/dog-casino-wooden-puzzle-dog-toy-nina-ottosson |

| I should add that we do the two miles and go to the dog park some of the time and she still doesn't act tired.
But I'll keep adding time on our runs and hopefully we'll eventually reach that magic number! |

| Bella kinda started to calm down a little at a year and a half. She's still full of energy and always walking around the house but she seems to get into stuff less and isn't as excitable as she used to be. Do you play any games with her where she has to pay attention to you? I've found for Bella at least if I make her think for her fun she tires out much faster than just running around. |

| I have two huskies that are about 2 1/2 years of age. Blaze is pretty laid back he will lay around sleep a part of the day asks to go out and play about 3-4 times a day. Kerian always wants to be doing something only sleep a small amount of time compared to Blaze. I usually take them for walks twice a day for about 3-4 miles a day total.
Every dog is different. |
