| And I thought I had a big boy, 26.4 lbs at 4 months (He's a Siberian though, not a Mal).
Lycan's gorgeous! |

| There are more of his pictures in Titus and Lycan Scrapbook. He grew really big since we first got him. We met a 6 month old Malamute the other day which is also pretty big at 70lbs. The owners said that their Wolfie wasn't this big at 4 months old. There's a growth spurt betwen 4 1/2 month till 8 months. Wolfie's paw is smaller than Lycan's. Lycan's paw is massive, bigger than a 6 month old Malamute and also bigger than Titus's paw. But of course Titus is a husky. I wonder how big will he grow. He is a standard Malamute for sure. Not those Giant Alaskan Malamute as we don't get those in Australia unless someone imported them. Malamutes are only in Australia for abour 20 years. His dam is pretty small at only 68lbs but his sire is around 110-120lbs My current weekly raw feeding amount for both Titus and Lycan is 22lbs of a mixture of beef, kangaroo and chicken meat plus 14 pieces of chicken quarters. I get their food weekly because I have limited freezer space and I'll be moving to Malaysia in a 4 months so getting a freezer now is not worthwhile. |

| Weighed him today. He is 64lbs. I measure his height too. He is 20" at the shoulders. Is he considered short for a Mal? |

| For his age, for a malamute, he sounds on track. My friend has a female Malamute and that girl is beast! Sounds like you might have a monster on your hands |

| He is 6 months. He is going to be a big boy. Height wise if he was full grown he would be be considered short. However he is still a puppy so he has some growing to do. mals don't stop growing until 3 years old.
I have the opposite maggie is taller than the breed standard but weight isn't up there. |

I have the opposite maggie is taller than the breed standard but weight isn't up there. Lycan is 5 months old, born on the 24th April 2012. I know he is going to be big because his dad is 115lbs. His dad is a few inches taller than Titus. Titus is around 23.5" on the shoulder bone. Do you measure them from the feet to the top of the body or till the shoulder bone? I'm concern because they reach their adult height at around 7-8 months old age right? He is getting heavier everyday week. |

| He might be getting ready to sprout up. I'm not sure if Mals are the same, but Huskies will have a growth spurt between around 6-8 months and then again around 15-18 months. Ghost would usually pack on a couple pounds before gaining height, and if you look at human kids a lot of times they'll get a little pudgy right before a growth spurt. I wouldn't worry too much, Ghost has put on close to 6 inches in height since she was 5 months old. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | We found Lycan's sister in a Malamute Fundraising walk today. Both of them are from the same litter, currently 6 months old. Do they look alike? Just the size different though. The bigger one is Lycan. |
