Alki has the hardest time walking out the door. It's like he's terrified to do it. He won't walk out the door, he won't walk from the door to the stairs and he sure as heck won't walk down the stairs. He has no problem walking around once we get to the grass. He walks and runs just fine up the stairs. And he isn't afraid to walk from the stairs to the door and coming in the apartment. He just REFUSES to walk out the door, to the stairs or down the stairs. We've tried bribing him with treats...everything. Nothing helps. Any tips?

Have you tried placing treats on both sides of the door and slowly luring him to it?

Yeah! We'll open the door and he just sits down and starts backing up. Even if I sit him outside the door, he refuses to move and just pulls back. I've tried sitting a treat outside the door, holding a treat and calling him. Nothing works. I end up having to carry him down the stairs.
