How long for hair to grow back? Empty
PostSubject: How long for hair to grow back?   How long for hair to grow back? EmptyWed Jan 30, 2013 6:46 am

I mentioned in other posts that we had to shave a small patch on the back of novas right hind leg because of a cut, it's fine now, but just wondering how long it usually takes for hair to fully grow back? It's growing but im curious to have a frame of reference as to what to expect.

Thanks.

Hi, well Arya had to get a couple of stitches for a small cut also a while back, she had coverage on the whole area after approx 2 weeks but almost 2 months later the under coat is not finished coming back just yet, but nearly there.

The majority of the the hair will be back after around 6 - 8 weeks, but the thick hair underneath can ale a little longer to completely fill in.

I can look up the exact dates and post pics of then and now if you like.

Nicky was shaved on her front leg and stomach on January 19th. The hair is growing in nicely so far. I've been giving her organic virgin coconut oil and also rub it directly on where she was shaved. I'm also giving her extra raw egg's as well.

Usually the younger the puppy- the quicker it grows back in. Probably within 2 months it should look nearly normal.

The only shave Saphire has gotten is from her spay. But it seemed like it took a good month and a half or more before her fur had grown back to normal. She had good coverage quickly but it still looked a little short/thin until about a month and a half.
