It was a cold and wet day.
Typical Oregon November weather with rain squalls and sun.
Bodhi, a friend and I drove twenty miles west of the I-205 bridge in the Columbia River Gorge to Cape Horn.
The trail is a 7.8 miles long loop that goes west along the Columbia River up to a prominence and then descends below cliffs and returns east above the river. It's a great trail because it can be hiked any time of the year. It has lots of exposure, and this time of year, wet leaves on wet rocks and mud.
Probably not the best place for a wild, pulling Siberian. Note to self: bring prong collar next time.

That's really pretty! I'm so jealous. I wish we had mountains around here.

With the trees in color it seemed like I was looking at the Genessee River valley here in western NY.

Looks like you had a very scenic hike! Beautiful pictures!

That is just absolutely stunning. I can only dream of having such beautiful surrounding instead of fonky swamps.

We get a lot of rain.
Sometimes, people move here and hate it.
They get depressed by the darkness.
But when the sun does break through, it's pretty spectacular.

I walk sometimes with a woman and her husky who moved from Louisiana last year.
She loved the summer and early fall. It's sunny and no humidity.
Then last February, she said, "I don't know if I can take this. It's so gloomy."

It doesn't bother me because I ski.
I know when it's raining down in the flatlands, it's snowing up high.

Wow. Breath taking photos. I couldn't imagine living in a place where I'm surrounded by such beautiful nature. Darn flat florida and lack of seasons =[

I'm definitely not your typical southern girl. I hate the heat, not a big fan of the sun. My favorite days are those grey overcast cold days. Though I know it's not always like that. Lol.

I probably would hate the rain though, because I hate it when it rains here for days on end.

I will visit Oregon one day, rain or shine! XD

Ashleigh, you will not be disappointed! I am similar and was raised in the south (FL native) and I hate the sun and heat. Moved to WA (a bit north of Seattle) and no place can compare. I don't love rain either but the rain in the PNW is nothing like the rain in the south.

The CA natives who moved up here because of the housing crisis always crack me up in the fall/winter. Grey skies and rain really swing their moods.

I'm like you, rain at my house means that its snowing on the pass, and that means skis and snowmobiles. In fact, I was the odd duck who was bitching about that 3 months of dry sunny weather we had.
