Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | Gizmo was a special kitty to us. She fell off a balcony when she was little into Chris's grandpa's yard. When the neighbour didn't come looking for her, he gave her to Chris and his mom. Boy was she spoiled there. Grandma fed her chips and french fries and she loved to eat flower petals! No plant was safe from her teeth.
She moved into our apartment when Chris's mom moved to Alberta. She followed me everywhere (even into the bathroom) and she slept with us every night. She continued her tradition of falling off stuff, furniture mostly, for her whole life.
A few years ago we noticed her walked a bit funny and the vet diagnosed her with diabetes. We have given her shots every day since in order to keep her quality of life When we brought Tika in, Gizmo flipped a switch and chased Tika around the pool all puffed up, like she was some big tough cat...lol. Tika and Rip learned to leave her alone, she was too old for their games. Her eyes started getting worse too, thankfully she learned the lay of the new house quickly.
Recently she started going downhill noticeably and we made the decision to let her run free. She was one of the most affectionate cats I have ever known. She could purr for hours if you pet her. The house is much quieter today.
She fell asleep in my arms yesterday at 16 years old. I was so sad to see her go, but the way she relaxed and didn't fuss told me she was ready to leave us. I am sure now that we made the right choice.
Run free my little Gizmo, I loved you more than you could ever know. I hope where ever you are, there is a full bag of BBQ chips, and flowers all over.

| I am so sorry for your loss, I know how hard of a time it is.. I just lost my chihuahua of 8 years a few weeks ago...they can be at peace together now <3
Here's a poem my friend sent me, I hope it helps!
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together. |
