2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Biggest Loser Contest Results Empty
PostSubject: Biggest Loser Contest Results   Biggest Loser Contest Results EmptySat Aug 10, 2013 2:29 pm

Hi everyone!  I wanted to post up my results from the past few months.

Back in March our HR Rep announced that the company was starting a biggest loser contest.  I have been trying to lose weight since college but have lacked the motivation.

The prize money was enough for me to kick it into high gear.  I started working out and eating clean.  A few months later and I'm down 46.3 lbs (15%)!  I ended up winning by a pretty substantial margin.  I ended up with $200 cash, a $75 certificate to Academy Sports, and a nice "Loser" trophy.

Now that the contest is over I figured that I'd post here and give occasional updates in order to stay on track.  I'd like to lose another 20-25 pounds over the next few months.  I'm a tall guy (6'4"), so my long-term goal weight is somewhere around 215.

If you ever have a chance to enter a contest like this I'd highly recommend it!  It's great for motivation and it was a lot of fun losing weight with others.

Thanks, ladies!

I did take before pictures, but I don't plan on taking after pictures until I reach my long-term goal. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

I give quite a bit of thanks to the huskies---they made it extremely easy to become more active.

Congratulations! Very cool.

Was it mainly a change in exercise or a change in diet too? Don't mean to pry, just curious!

Thanks, Katie! While I did become more active and start working out, the biggest impact was changing how I eat. During the contest I went cold turkey on fast food. Any time I got a craving for fast food I'd order Jimmy John's instead. At this point I've almost lost my taste for things I used to eat all the time (ie-pizza, etc). If I had to estimate, for me it was 15% exercise, 85% diet.
