My puppy wont stop biting and growling... Empty
PostSubject: My puppy wont stop biting and growling...   My puppy wont stop biting and growling... EmptyThu Apr 11, 2013 12:18 am

Hello, I just got my husky a little over a week ago he is 8 weeks old as of sunday and I am beginning to get concerned with his biting habits...he wont stop. I cannot play with him without him biting my toes, legs, hands, and arms. he always draws blood everytime he bites and sometimes growls if I try to pull my arm away. I tried yelping like a puppy and trying to redirect his attention to toys but he doesn't care. Its really frustrating because I want to play with him but I don't know how to get him to stop. Should I just enroll him in puppy classes and see if that helps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

This is the reason why puppies should stay with their mom and littermates until 8-10 weeks old. They learn bite inhibtion at that age from their siblings. If they were to bite their siblings they would yelp and remove themselves. He's just being a puppy that was taken away to early. You can try spraying bitter spray on yourself so he won't like the taste. Otherwise the yelling, or a stern no and then removing yourself from playing with him should stop it pretty quickly.
