| went doggie hiking with some friends today and all the sudden heard some yelping like my boy was being attacked, ran toward the sounds and at first we thought he had a raccon or something, but as we got closer we realized his head was caught in a conibear trap! Took two of us to get it off and after reading about them realized how lucky he was to be alive. It was in a place where no hunting or trapping is allowed, so we took it with us....bastards.
Found some info online about how to release them if a pet is ever caught in one and hopefully not dead. http://www.trapfreeoregon.org/page3.html there are some photos at the bottom of the photo galley on there of pets in traps with it around some dogs heads which is what happened to my boy. It's a lucky day!

| Oh my gosh! That is horrible, I'm glad you were able to get him out! Is there any way to identify the traps? Did you make a police report or anything? |

| he seems just fine, but i think i am gonna submit an article to the local podunk newspaper though about the trapping that area where there are trails near town that people walk their dogs on to bring awareness for the people who are doing it and the folks who use those trails. I'm never goin back there though. |

| Oh my goodness! How scary! I would be so pissed off if Juneau got stuck in one of those - especially if trapping wasn't allowed! I can't imagine if I lost her to one of them. He is so lucky, and you're lucky you had a friend with you. I definitely wouldn't go back there either. I am interested in hearing what the local newspaper will say. |

| Trapping should be banned in this country. It's sooo dangerous. I hate that wolf trapping is now allowed in WY, MT, and ID, because we like to vacation out west during the summers. Not that I ever allow my two off lead, but I'd still be afraid of traps near trails, cause some idiots do put them in places they shouldn't. They should at least make trappers put up signs warning people where the traps are and to avoid them, but that will never happen cause they are too afraid of people springing the traps and stealing them.
Hope your guy is okay. Such a scary situation! _________________ -Sara |

| A lady I'm friends with on Facebook, does dog sledding here in WI. She was running her dogs on a trail up north and one of her dogs got in a trap. She called the warden and they came out and cited the guy whole laid the traps on the trail and made him come out remove all of his. |

| Oh my gosh I am so sorry that happened to you! But thank the lord your baby is okay.. There was a news story awhile ago about somebody who set a trap in a husky owners yard because of her dogs' noise. Her pups head got caught and her dog slowly died from suffocation. Even though trapping is illegal in most all city limits, people do it anyway. I am so happy your baby is okay. |

| That is so aweful, I am so glad he wasnt seriously hurt! I cannot understand why people would trap in a high traffic zone like that! I am not a fan of hunting and especially traps, but that is an absolutely terrible thing for someone to do. Again, releived you are all ok. |
