| I took Nanook right after we rescued him. He was nervous and skittish, totally refused the treat the vet tech introduced herself with. He gave a serious growl (complete with hackles up) when it came time to look him over and do the shots, and they wound up muzzling him. He actually seemed used to that, so obviously it wasn't his first muzzle experience. He is gradually getting better about letting ME (and only me) handle him, though he is only just now laying still for me to gently handle his feet. I hope he improves soon because he is in need of a nail trim. |

| Picked Lucian up a few hours ago. The vet tech said he got a bit nasty with them after the neuter. He came out wearing the cone of shame. Poor guy. I took it off of him before we got in the truck. I'll put it back on before we go to bed. They want me to keep him calm and quiet for 10-14 days! He wanted to play 5 minutes after we got home. No idea how I'm going to keep him calm for that long. |

| I took Pippa to a vet in Alabama where I got her because the humane society has a deal with a few offices in the area that will do free wellness checks.
She was great with the vet tech, even for the temp check, but the vet walked in and went to kind pet her/rough her up kind of and she went to snap at him. He grabbed her by her scruff and put her against the wall. She peed all over him and the floor.
I was so upset and kind of worried considering I'd just adopted her. We left and she's never done anything like that since. She's great with the vet at home and only ever complains when she gets a bath or if she can hear other dogs whining. |

He doesn't flinch for shots, but he doesn't like having his temp taken, and I have to hold his head.
After we have been there awhile, he starts pacing. He lies by the door as if to say "Get me outa here!" I think he can smell other dogs in distress.
Sometimes I call him "Mr. Fluffy Pants!" This is how Loki is. We would do like the little girl from despicable me where she says "he is so fluffy" or something along those lines. |

That's what my vet said too! She said they are very sensitive and usually put up a fight with shots and she was surprised that mine don't seem to mind. Just don't come near him with that thermometer!
My vet said this too! He was also surprised that my boy takes shots so well. Saber likes to watch what the vet's doing to him haha! Yeah my vet thought Yuki was gonna howl in terror but Yuki didn't even make one peep at ANY of her shots. She simply doesn't care, you can do anything with her. Cloud, however, is my big guard dog who barks at everything yet cried like he was on fire when he got his last set of shots. Big baby |

| Karli loves the vet because everyone gives her so much attention. She gets all happy with tail wagging. They leave the top half of the door open for her and she stands there on hind legs watching everyone walk by. If someone walks by without saying hi to her she cries. She didn't even notice the shots and with her last round they didn't give her any treats with them. Must be her thick husky fur. I'll be getting her microchipped when she gets spayed, my vet recommended doing it that way because of how big the needle is. - Quote :

Maybe she'd been to that vet before and didn't like him? I would've been livid if a vet had done that to my dog, it does more harm then good! |

| I just took Danzig on Tuesday and he peed everytime they touched him. They were so nice to him and he was still scared. Then when I was trying to pay, he was pulling so hard to get to the door. Then he peed when I was helping him get into the car! Brat... |

HAHAHA That sounds like Lulu! I had to take her to the vet right before the move, and she peed *everywhere*. All over the lobby, the exam room, the table, and herself Ghost is generally good, but a little nervous at the vet. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Jade gets super excited to see everyone at the vet, and never gets scared. She loves the birdcage that they have and i imagine would like to eat the poor parakeets. i have to lay on her to hold her down when they administer shots or whatnot because she will wiggle free and try and get some loving, and usually you'll get a tongue in the face if you aren't careful. |

Ghost is generally good, but a little nervous at the vet. Haha! Well I dont feel so bad. The vet seemed to not even notice. They cleaned it up but then he laid down on the same spot and they didn't disinfect. It kinda grossed me out. Our other dog Wyatt could care less about things like that. As long as Daddy is near he is a good boy. |

I was trying to casually pull him out of it without her noticing lol. |

| I mop between appts when a pet has urinated or defected! I thought that was common practice! I hate when I hear techs/assistants cutting corners like no one notices! I mean, it's a part of the job! lol That's how things get spread to other animals AND people. |

| I'm still wondering if my vet cleaned up after the sick pit bull that someone brought in. Poor thing threw up a few times while I was there. The guy that brought the dog in cleaned up after it with paper towel, but I didn't see anyone spray it down with anything. I kept thinking what if the dog has parvo, and here I am sitting here with my 12 week old puppy. |

| Bella was an absolute angel the last time I took her to the vet. She was nice and friendly to all the dogs in the office wanted to meet all the people there and was just all around a happy puppy. She squirmed mightily when she got her shots but that was more because she doesn't like staying in one place for too long. She was better at the vet than she is for me at home and then she tried to climb into the drivethru window at Dunkin Donuts on the way home. Must have wanted me to know she was ok. |

| LOL Balon is a hot mess at the vet, extremely vocal grumbly growling sound. He doesn't like having his feet, mouth, nose, belly, privates, legs, ears, well everything touched lol. Usually we just go ahead and put a muzzle on him so they keep their hearing lol. |

| Alice is usually pretty well-behaved to a point at the vet's office. She doesn't like having her temp taken, and will try to sit down and roll around when that happens. Our vet's office has little benches for us to sit on in the rooms, and she'll try to crawl under there (although only half of her fits). Usually after the tech leaves and our vet comes in (whom Alice loves dearly), Alice will give the vet a talking to about her treatment. It's adorable.
She's pretty good about being touched all over, but cutting her nails has to take place over several days because she gets squirrelly after a while. |

That sounds like Lucian when the vet was checking his testicles, lol. He grumbled, and woo'd quite a bit. I just held his front end, while she was at the back. I'd rather not muzzle if I don't have to. My Samantha was terrified of the vet. She would shake. They had her down as a "fear biter" on her chart. They even suggested putting a muzzle on her when I took her in to be put to sleep. I looked at the vet like he was insane. I refused to let her be muzzled for the last few moments of her life. I held onto her the whole time. Even after she was gone, I didn't want to leave her. |

| When the vet checked Snoopy's testicles right before his neuter, Snoopy let out this big growly-grumble-whine in disagreement and the tech let him go with a look of horror on he face. I asked if she wanted me to hold him instead but she said no and I guess they were done with the exam. He was just complaining lol |
