Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I walk Luna at night after dark a lot and I don't really want to go crazy insane super reflective awful looking attire, but some lights or reflective something to keep us both safe would be amazing. Just wondering, if anyone has any suggestions or gear they like.

I know they make reflective leashes, I've seen them at Petco. Easy to use without going overboard on neon.

I use Julius k9 harnesses that have reflective thread so during the day you can't tell they are reflective. My hubby and I both wear battery opperated headlights. They work great especially when you have to pick up poop.

I have this for walks or runs at night. You can attach it on their collar or you can slip the clip that's on the back to their harness or leash.

I wear a reflective vest but my hubby has a reflective strap and blinking light. We both also wear reflective gloves in the winter. We got our gear at a running store. I know that the WalMart here has a really nice selection of reflective products in the men's work clothing section. Lola has reflectors on her harness.

If I'm just taking her for a walk I have a slap bracelet/light made for running that I put on the leash.

If we're running and will be out for a while (i.e. it's worth the trouble), I'll put on her reflective vest made for hunting. Got it at Academy for like $9.

I just use reflective leashes for the dogs, and my SAR coat for me. It's bright red, and has a lot of white reflective striping and embroideryy stitching. In the summer I wear a white t shirt and bright lime yellow beanie, and the same leashes.

I've thought about the Beacon for a while now, since my 3 dogs are black, but I think it would irritate me to have three blinking at individual times and rates..

You can have it to where it isn't blinking.

Bodhi wears a NiteDawg collar.
I carry a flashlight, and if it's foggy, wear a reflective vest.
