Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| We are going to bring Roo to be boarded (found a really good place) and we are wondering what we should bring for her.
The room she will be in is pretty big. They offer raised "beds" they appear to be pvc piping with a canvas portion over them. The room also has access to an outdoor area for her via doggy door.
Should we bring her crate (she is used to sleeping in it and goes in there by herself all the time)?
Besides that will bring a couple toys (there is a 3 piece minimum).
What do you normally bring when boarding? |

| I would call and ask about the crate. We brought toys and bones treats and dog food when we board Blaze that was only once. for about a week, |

| Ask what they allow. The place I work for will allow you to bring in anything, but because they dogs are all kept together to play during the day and they don't want anyone choking on toys at night in their crates, we don't give them the toys/blankets their owners bring with them. It's just easier to let them play with the toys that are already there, so if they get destroyed owners don't get mad. And we supply them with bedding too to prevent the owners bedding from being destroyed too. Just ends up with happier owners without ruined bedding and toys! lol. And the dogs still get toys and bedding, just not their own, so it doesn't matter if it gets dirty or torn up. _________________ -Sara |

| I'd ask what is allowed, some places don't let you bring anything but food. When I board mine I only bring food. They provide bed, blanket and bowls. No toys were allowed but I could have brought my own bed if I wanted. _________________ |

| Forgot to add, when I boarded Siku (different place) I only brought her and her food with instructions on how much to feed and emergency contact info. _________________ -Sara |

| We bring food, a couple of toys and a washable rug. They don't like it when you bring big dog beds-they wash everything before you pick them up. I think each kennel is different. Ours let us bring Lola up to walk around for a little while, meet the caregivers and have a cookie. Big bonus, our kennel is owned by a husky owner! He's awesome. He gets it! |
