| Hey Everyone! My name is Shannon, and I recently got Phantom from a breeder in Alabama for my then-fiance/now-husband as a X-mas/Wedding gift! He was born on November 4th, and came home with us on the 14th of December. We had a rocky start, because I have an older Shiba Inu, he's 4, and he's very jealous/possessive/dominant of everything! Two days after we brought Phantom home, Apollo (my Shiba), bit Phantom in the face and fractured his zygomatic arch (cheekbone) on his right side. It's been about a week and a half since all that has happened and he's doing a lot better! His super hyper, and quite the nipper! However, I was curious if anyone else had issues with the old dog being aggressive to a puppy. He still growls and bares his teeth to the puppy, so we keep them separated but in the same room to get Apollo used to him. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Since he can't be friends with Apollo, he and our newer kitten love playing with one another and chasing one another Thanks! |

| He's a cutie! I got mine from a breeder in bama as well. Which one did you get from, if you don't mind me asking. |

| He's very cute.
Make sure you start working on bite inhibition with him ASAP. Puppies taken from their mothers prior to eight weeks tend to have more issues with nipping because they have not had sufficient inhibition training from the mom and litter mates that they would have gotten had they stayed longer. |

I could see why you would be curious about that, he has markings very similar to Nikko, they could go for twins |

| He will be a nippler because I think you got him a little to young. Other than that you have a cute little guy there. Yes, welcome |

Thanks for the tip! We've just started doing the removing ourselves from the room when he bites, so we'll see how it pans out! |

| There are a few really helpful threads on here about puppy biting, check them out! What a lot of people will tell you is when he nips you, yelp like his littermate would so he realizes he's hurting you. |

| Got another shot of him today. Sorry for the crappy quality, it was taken with an Ipad. Thanks for all the kind words. Does anyone know of any websites or books that could help me with the new puppy/old dog situation? |
