| Subject: How far to walk my Luna? Wed Dec 26, 2012 7:58 pm | |
| Hi! My 14 week old puppy Luna, has been allowed out today for the first time. How far are you supposed to walk puppies of this age? People keep saying I have to be careful as not to give her joint problems in the future. Any advice is very welcome as I think she would run forever if I let her lol ) |

| A really good rule of thumb for walking puppies is 5 minutes per month of age. So since Luna is 14 weeks, 15-17 minutes would be an appropriate length and no structured runs until she's around a year. Just make sure you supplement walks with romps in the yard and training sessions, and Luna will do great _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | 2-3 times per day really is plenty, I wouldn't do any more than that. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
