Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I know many of you guys have two dogs, What do you guys think the pro and cons are for getting another dog. I have the most amazing Boy now he is almost 8 months old. He is with me all day ( i own a repair shop he is a shop dog) and at night he comes home with me and spends nights with two toddlers and my gf. We make weekly trips to pet smart ext.... What does everyone think I would not want a puppy I would look for a girl around the same age.

How does he get along with other dogs? if he has never met another dog, you may want to socialize him first.

If I were you I would wait until he is past 1 year old. He also need to be socialized a bit more it sounds like from your post. He needs maybe play dates or trips to the dog parks.

I love having 2 dogs we adoptd our second one once Blaze was past 1 year he was almost 2 by the time we decide to get a second one. They keep each other very busy entertain each other. We still walk them most days twice a day for about 2 to 3 miles a day. They get to go out and play several times a day. We take them to the dog park about once or twice a week depending on what we have going on. Kerian was past 2 years old when we found her at a shelter needing a home we took Blaze to meet her they seem to hit it off so we took her.

We do watch their play alot to insure it doesn't get out of hand Kerian plays alot harder than Blaze.

I love having both of them they are so much fun to watch and play with.

Alpine lived with his sister from day one. When we rescued him I wanted to take it slow so my sister rescued his sister so we do meet up a lot. He loves other dogs as well my parents have too dogs he plays very well with. As for a dog park we do go to one but we live in a small town and there is hardly ever other dogs there.
