PostSubject: Lycus has a red / swollen eye *Looking better!   Lycus has a red / swollen eye *Looking better! EmptyThu Jan 03, 2013 3:40 pm

So when I woke around 7 am this morning, I noticed swelling and redness in Lycus' eye. It's only on the right eye, on the bottom. I'm not too sure where it came from. He isn't acting any different at all. He's eating, drinking, and playing the same. Although, I minimized his playing to stop him from hurting himself.

It doesn't even seem to bother him. He doesn't try to scratch it at all, and he lets me touch around it with no problems what so ever.

I was thinking maybe he hit himself yesterday while playing with our chow mix. They were getting pretty rough with each other but I can't be too sure. I was also thinking it might be allergies or an infection. I want to wait 24 hours before taking him to the vet to see if the swelling goes down. If it gets worse before then, I'll take him immediately.

Here are some pictures to show you guys, and maybe someone knows what the problem is.

A lump underneath his eye just formed within these last few hours Sad I'm going to call my vet right now and hope he has an open time to take him in.

EDIT: I just called our vet and he has his appointment tomorrow. Although, the lump went down a little bit with a warm cloth around his eye. Hopefully it doesn't get worse until then.

I hope you figure out what it is and it's not too difficult. When Koda irritated his eye before or got it agitated by laying with it facing the grass, it was stuck in a wince, so I'm clueless as to what could cause such a big droop Sad

So his swelling has gone down dramatically and the lump is also pretty much gone! He only has redness for the most part. He will still be going to the vet tomorrow but I'm really happy to see that he is doing a lot better. Here is a picture (Sorry the quality is not as good. It was taken with my phone) :
