| Hello everyone! Good news. My female, Sally, has had her first litter. I am not a professional breeder however, I love and respect my dogs and wanted to breed them. I took necessary precautions and had my vet on hand. Around 3AM Sally gave birth to 7 healthy pups. 4 females and 3 males. She is currently with them. The male, and father, Jack, is housed separately for obvious reasons. I am overly excited at this, both the pups and sally (mother) are doing outstanding. Here is a picture, Sally decided the outdoor, covered, tile patio was the best place. She doesnt seem to like them sitting on a blanket or anything, just the ground. |

| It's not generally healthy to allow a bitch under the age of 2 to breed, so I am glad the mother and the puppies are doing well. They are very adorable. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I am also someone who advocates health testing, but I hope that they remain healthy and happy. Whelping a litter can be exhausting. Good luck.
P.S. I love the little pink noses of newborns!! |

| I don't mean to sound rude, but I was looking at that picture and a couple things are bothering me: 1. The floor looks a little dirty- it might be the type of tile, but it also looks like there is still blood from the birth. Maybe it's an old picture, but you need to clean that area THOROUGHLY. Your newborn puppies basically have no immune system. 2. I don't care what "Sally seems to think," but her puppies need WARMTH, not cold tile. They WILL die if they are not kept warm. They have no muscle, no immune system, and no fat to keep them warm. They need blankets and a warm place to be. If Sally doesn't allow them to be warm, she may be an unfit mother (which happens, you can't always control that). I am not trying to be mean. They are beautiful puppies and I am glad they are doing well, but you need to make sure they are getting everything they need, whether the mother provides it or not. They NEED warmth or they will die That's just the honest truth. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I agree wholeheartedly with Tori. I also suggest you purchase a kiddie pool, line it with blankets and put the puppies in there. It makes the perfect whelping area.
Did your vet not tell you to create a stable, cozy area as a whelping box?
Are all of them drinking milk okay and mom is recovering okay? |

| Adorable little pups! But as everyone else stated, get them to a clean, dry, warm place. Make sure mom is nursing them as often as need be. Years ago my in-laws dog had a litter of 4 pups, and she refused to nurse them. We had to hold her down so the pups could nurse. |
