| Do I have to worry about feeding my husky too much? She is always picking off the ground and always asking for food? I give her as much as I've seen recommended and she isn't over weight? And I read that it's hard for them to lose weight |

| She is testing you to see if you will give her more. Lola does this all the time! Lola is one and she gets one cup of food in the morning and one at dinner. I bring a few pieces of kibble with me when we walk to use as treats. When I put her in her crate I gIve her a frozen kong which contains a small amount of water soaked kibble, yogurt and pumpkin. I also have three food puzzles that I will use to feed her dinner. This slows her down eating but she will still hunt for more. They aren't hungry. They are bored or testing to see if you will give more! |

| Ok because I give her 2 feedings a day and each is the amount of one of those 12 oz yogurt or sour cream containers pretty much the amount looks the size of a soda can |

| Do you have a regular measuring cup you can use? I'd pick one up at a dollar store because the container you are using might be bigger or smaller than a cup. Also what does the dog food bag say you should feed? |

| What kind of kibble do you feed her?
I feed my boy Taste of the Wild...1.5 cups a day. Of course he wants more, but he's highly food driven and if given the chance he'll eat until he throws up.
If you give us pictures, we'll be able to tell if she's being underfed or not. Generally, you should be able to feel her back 2 ribs slightly, but you should not be able to see them. You should not be able to feel or see her spine. Her figure should be an hourglass from the top, and from the side her belly should tuck in. |

| Huskies (even purebreds) come in all shapes and sizes, depending on their lineage, so its hard to tell unless we see a picture of her.
For example, some lines of racing huskies are so thin you would swear they were emaciated, but they were bred to be very lean yet strong. |

| I feed my girl 2 cups a day of BBW. She is approximately 48 pounds. All depends on the pup but breed standard is usually 40-50lbs for females from what I recall. |

| Hi there, you sibe is so cute. We feed Kira who is between 1 and two years( not sure how old exact being a rescue) a small handful of Earthborn Coastal Catch in morning for breaky and at night she gets between 300-400 grams of home cooked meat veg mix - plus a small handful of earthborn dry Coastal catch. She really loves the food. She weighs almost 24 kg ( about 53 pound) and doesnt look overweight either and runs the wind, but our vet said she needs to lose a couple of kg/pounds. Though I can feel her ribs to. Admitedly she does get a few treats during the day ( good ones like dry chicken treats and vegi chewables ) and she also is always asking for food at table when we eat. She will talk like huskies do asking for some, Its a bad habit. In most cases we say NO, and try and be strong in a stern voice but its hard when those gorgeous blue eyes stare at you. We are cutting back, well trying to. She pretty much eats anything nothing she doesnt like. She is a short haired stocky little girl so different to our other Laska who never asked for food and was always fussy about what she wanted to eat. Laska even at a young age was very thin and was hard for her to put on weight. She was bred from racing line in New Zealand. Laska never gained more than 45 pound. We were were worried she was too thin yet vet said she was ok. I guess as mentioned it depends on the breed line of huskies. Kira we dont know where she came from as we got her from a shelter with no history of previou s owners. And poor Kira had a pretty rough start in life. Here is latest pick of our Kira to show you what she looks like about approx 53 pound this Christmas |

| My 15 month 65 Pound Neutered Male gets 3 Cups per day of Yukon Gold Mushers Mix - he got the same amount when he was on Wellness. He lives a fairly active life but he's in impeccable condition and weight. Just find what works for her and evaluate the brand your using. At one point the only store in town that sold Wellness was out and at that point I wasn't aware of Yukon Gold being available locally - and I bought a bag of Kibbles N' Bits at the local grocery store ... worst decision of my life. He was eating 6-7 cups per day in order to maintain weight and he lost condition like crazy. Also keep in mind that dogs, like people, will often want to eat out of boredom. Make sure she's busy - she's a husky, after all |
