Has anyone had any luck on trying to stop their husky from destroying stuffed toys? Bella loves stuffed animals, as long as they were not made for dog toys for some reason and will play for them for about an hour or so untill she decides they must die. She then settles down and tears them to pieces. She's never expressed an interest in the stuffingless toys so I've given up on them.
She usually alternates between making me throw them and playing tug with them, when I see her start to tear them up I put them away but they still never last more than a few play sessions.
Her current angry bird is looking pretty sad and likely won't last another day, the hat though she just trots around with like a trophy.

My senior, Denali, would just destroy them in no time. She loved to take the stuffing out. She stopped about a year ago when she started having her medical issues. Kodiak likes to play with them but has yet to discover how to destroy them.

I call Lycus a surgeon. If he notices that there is a squeaker inside, he will carefully rip the seams just to pull out the squeaker plastic. Once that is done he tears up the rest.

I mistakenly bought Freya a Kong wobbler. It was an absolutelly adorably green bunny. It had it's little head with little green bunny ears, then the bottom was a giant ball squeeker.

I got it thinking she's have trouble distroying it because 1. it's by Kong and they are known for their high quality. and 2. it was made of a really thick hard fabric. I honestly though she'd be happy playing with hte squeeker.

Well about 3 play sessions she decided bunny didnt need his head any more. She first ripped bunny's face off and extracted all of the stuffing. After doing that and deciding she didnt like the feeling of stuffing in her mouth she moveds on to resecting the head from hte body.

Bunny now consists of a large ball squeeker encased in green fabric that is freying around the edges, fortunatelly for Bunny, Freya granted him his tail.
She is more than happy to lay down nad squeek bunny's body. She just didnt like looking at his face.

I guess it was more fool on me, but I honestly thought she'd like to play with the squeeker. I got her a ferret thing with a squeeker in each end. It wasnt stuffed. Just looked like a ferret or weasel or what have you. It's still in one piece although the squeekers no longer work from over use.

Onyx's favorite toy was a stuffed bear we got from the breeder when we bought him. It took him about a week before he delivered the kill shot. I was with him and let him do it, thought it was funny, and when my wife came home she said it looked a like a teddy bear massacre. We bought him 1 more stuffing toy after that and since then it has been nothing but stuffingless.

wow I feel so out of place, Thane has destroyed 3 stuffed animals but they took a long time to go. The only thing I've seen him take apart quickly are tennis balls.

For me, stuffed animals die the moment they are within reach. But oddly, the ones that make noise last just a little longer. Our pack will destroy quiet stuffed animals in under an hour. if it makes noise, they play with it for days before it meets it's untimely death. I know what you mean about liking the stuffed animals that aren't meant to be dog toys more than anything. Callie much prefers everyone else's stuffed animals to hers. My mom loves it though because she hates all the stuffed animals us kids have.

The one that's lasted the longest was this stupid little Lemur thing, I think it was a Littlest Pet Shop toy. It had these giant eyes and when you pressed the tummy, it laughed obnoxiously. the tail was long enough that it made a great toy for tug. I think it lasted almost two weeks before Callie decided to rip out it's eyes.

Karli loves squeaky stuffed toys!!! Her favorite is a squirrel my hubby picked up for her before we got her. She carries it around everywhere even though the squeaker died within the first week. She still tries to squeak it. She has yet to actually kill one, she likes to squeak them and chew on them but no deaths as of yet. She has an eeyore stuffed toy that rattles and she chews on it but it must be made of tough stuff because he's still in one piece (must be how awesome eeyore is lol).

But, when he is in the mood to play, he only plays with furry squeaker toys. After the squeaker breaks, he stops playing with it (cause the 'animal' is 'dead', I guess!). So I bought a beaver toy where you can open it up and replace the squeakers inside...well worth the money.

He used to have a stuffed squirrel, but after he killed a real one (and after I heard its HORRIBLE screams), I took it away from him and gave it to my local shelter. I couldn't watch him play with it after seeing what he did to that squirrel.

Carolina is the same way, but when she does play, we get her ones with multiple squeakers. One toy of hers has 8 squeakers, however, 3 are already done for. She doesn't rip the toy up, but she'll silence the squeakers by puncturing a hole in it or she somehow dislodges the part the makes it squeak form the air pocket. Luckily, when she does this, I can fix it again.

She's only ripped one toy in the 4 months we've had her and it's because we were playing tug with it. She won't play tug with a regular rope

I thought Suka was the only (grumpy) husky that didn't like to play! Glad to see I'm not alone!

Yeah, I bought him a squeaker mat. I think it was a red and yellow dragon. He killed all the squeakers within a week, though, so I gave it away to the shelter.
He doesn't rip toys apart either. He used to play tug of war, but he doesn't anymore...don't know why, he just sorta stopped.

He doesn't like the rope toys either, or the plastic hard ones. He's pretty picky...
