Saya seems to hate it when I grab her back legs for whatever reason. She will usually try to get me to let go of them. Is your husky protective of them?

Half of my pack are, the two biggest ones don't like the back paws touched. Steve and Sophie hate it, Cali and Sammy don't seem to mind what I do to them

Lucian will let me touch him with mostly no problem. He might pull his feet away after a minute or two. Doesn't really care for the vet touching him anywhere, lol.

Kay hates her back legs touched, she'll bite and grab my hands trying to get me to stop. She especially hates it when i brush them, i'm trying to get her used to it soon since she's blowing her coat right now.

Nope, but the breeder I got my dogs from works with handling the puppies from birth and I continued to work with them once they came home. If it's a new development I'd start to look at a reason like pain.

I've never met or owned a dog who liked their back legs or paws touched.

Kale doesn't care, I go up behind him and grab his buttfluff all the time lol he just lays there and looks at me, or keeps walking haha. I can run my hands down his front and back legs and he has never protested or given any indication that he doesn't like it. I check him weekly for lumps and bumps; I think it's really important to train your dogs to tolerate being touched all over (briefly) for this reason alone.

Nope. As Kristina can attest, I man-handle my dogs like a 2 year old at random times and did that a lot when they were puppies so they don't react to me touching them anywhere, and also so when kids are around, if they do an ear or tail tug, it's no big deal.

How old is the dog? They can have artheritus (dont think i spelled that rght lol) or hip problems..

I am having this problem with my pup.
In the upper part of his back legs. I wanted to get him checked out at my work and it turns out (after x-rays) he has inflammation of the bones (panosteitis) , which is incredibly common in big dog breeds (shepherds, great danes, huskys, setters) and younger dogs are more prone to it if they have grown too quickly, because their bones grow quicker than the rest of them (growing pains). However older dogs can get it too. And can be cleared up with a short course anti inflammatorys most of the time. I don't wish to scare anyone at all, but if its a big reaction it might be worth just getting them checked over.

My rescue girl, Delilah does not like it - but she also has a slipped disk in her back. My male who I have had since a puppy could care less, but I am like Heather and got him very desensitized to all of that.

haha Heather...I do that to Kale as well... I also play with his tail during walks and make him prance haha people look at me like im abusive or crazy, they need to lighten up! LOL Kale and I also rassle (dogplay)

Lol I man handle and wrestle Lycus all the time as well since he was a pup so he doesn't care either.
