Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Crate training miracle :0??? Empty
PostSubject: Crate training miracle :0???   Crate training miracle :0??? EmptyThu Nov 29, 2012 10:19 pm

After 10 or so too many wholes that saya has made to our apartment wall we decided that it was time for a crate for her. We went and got her a huge one and surprisingly saya does not seem to mind the crate yet. She goes in at will and lays there she still sleeps on the couch(we only got the crate yesterday.) But when she does goes in and we lock the crate door she just lays there with her toys and does not bark, something which surprised me since she hates being locked in places. I have heard her whine a bit while in there but she has not barked yet.

Anybody ever had a husky that did not mind the crate since the beginning? or should I expect Saya to become a diva in the next upcoming days?

I adopted Pippa at 7 months and she hasn't really minded her crate since then and I did very little training of any kind.

She may or may not have been crate trained, but I lean towards thinking she wasn't (and isn't entirely yet...) leashed trained or house trained.

We just recently crate trained ours and he's 2 years old haha. He came running in after seeing some coyotes in the backyard and ran in the crate because they scared him and he's been good with it ever since. Sometimes he'll whine a little bit but he gets over pretty fast. He chills in there with my rat terrier. My rat terrier did real well too because he goes in there to get away from my 14 month old since he doesnt really play and my 14 month old wants to haha.

My pup loves her kennel! Every time we put her in it from the very beginning we give her a treat, so know she's knows, go in the crate get a treat Smile
