This morning Luna and I went for our morning walk. We have been doing some short walks recently because I just got my wisdom teeth out and have been pretty doped up. But today I was feeling good so we went on a long walk. I was plugged into my iPod and just walking along. Out of nowhere these 2 pit bulls (and for the record I have nothing against pits, I think they are beautiful dogs) come running full speed towards us. Not on a leash and owner no where in sight. Luna is naturally a very skittish pup and needless to say she was TERRIFIED. She peed everywhere, tail between the legs and fur up on her back. Not only that but we're on a busy road and she's being backed up into it. I didn't know what to do! So I tried to drag her away (i'm sure her collar was choking her but I just wanted to be out of there!). Finally the owner opens the front door and shouts for them to come in. Not even an apology for scaring the bejeezes out of me and my dog. For a good 1/2 mile she was pulling HARD with her tail between her legs. I had to keep stopping her and turning her around to show her the other dogs weren't following. I was sooo mad, I didn't even have my cell phone on me so if something happened I would have been screwed! And honestly I don't know if she would have bit them or not, shes never been aggressive but she was terrified. People are just unbelievable. Not only could her dogs have bit my dog, they could have just as easily gotten hit on that busy road! I'm just hoping Luna dosen't regress in the work we've been doing for her skittishness.

| If I were you I would always carry my cell phone and also get some mace to carry with you for stray dogs come after you.

One nightmare like that and MACE is needed. Good stuff like what bear hunters use for Grizzly attacks as more often then not if a dog is hyped up on adrenaline the people stuff won't be strong enough. If the owner charges use it on them too and call the police because if you don't they will and you'll be made out to be the guilty party.

Glad to hear your pup is ok poor thing probably traumatized like mine, The same exact thing happened to me and my pup about 5 months ago. Sapphira and I were just walking along and we went by a house and this big hound dog pit mix thing starts barking out the window and we took a couple more steps and I turn around and these little kids open the door to let it out! It ran right up to us and i snatched sapphira up as fast as I could and she peed all over me and I grabbed a stck and shewed it off. Now she is terrified of all dogs bigger than her and we have to go to training to get her out of it... People these days are just rude and inconsiderate so now when we go for walks we take a walking stick.

I'm definitely going to look into the Mace. I still can't believe I forgot my phone, it seems something bad always happens when you forget your phone!

Poor thing! I don't even walk Lycus in our own neighborhood for that exact reason. There's always loose dogs around here and it seems that not a single one is social, and they're all pretty aggressive :/ It's too scary for me and I'm sure for him so we just stick to parks.
