| Nicky got hold of a roll of toilet paper and shredded it all over my bed this morning. I was able to take about 80% of it away. I'm not sure how much she ate, but she's been vomiting ever since. She's gotten sick about 6 times and nothing has come up except stomach bile. She won't do anything but curl up in a ball and looks sad. I know she's not feeling well, is there anything I can do for her?
We're in the middle of a bad snow storm, so going to the vet at the moment isn't a good/safe option and I don't want to have to take her if this is something that will pass.
Any advise? It's only been about 2 hours since she ate it. She was fine before that. |

| Funny that you had this problem this morning.. the morning show here had a vet on that answered a question about this thing she said it will pass. I am sure others might have other suggestions.. Have you call your vet to see what they suggest.

| She should be able to digest the paper ok, and I know a lot of people who give their dogs cardboard instead of rawhide to help clean their teeth. I'd keep an eye on her and watch for dehydration, and see if she starts perking up. If she continues to refuse food and act lethargic, then I'd consider going to the vet once the snow tapers off.
For the record, we haven't had a single flake here... _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Qannik eats toilet paper all the time! For some reason TP, paper towels and napkins type stuff is his favorite. We do our best to keep him out of the bathroom but he sneaks in once in a while. He's never gotten sick from it. Hope Nicky feels better soon!

| I did call the vet and she said she should be fine, but if she continues to not eat/drink then they would like to see her. The vet also suggested I try to get her to eat some whole wheat bread or rice for added fiber and 10 MG of Pepcid twice a day to help with the acid in her stomach. I tried giving her whole wheat bread soaked in beef broth. Nicky smelled it and tried to burry it with her nose and wouldn't eat it I'm gonna try again in a little bit. She hasn't thrown up anymore since the last time I posted, so that's good news. Kinda sucks, this is our first big snow storm and the dog's can finally play out in the snow and she feels bad ... Maybe I'll try to get her out there and see if the snow perks her up. |
