My partner bought some chicken breast the day before yesterday and grill it. I only ate a small piece. Yesterday when Eddie woke up, he started vomiting and having diarrhea. Well we thought it was the fish that he ate yesterday afternoon. I cooked some chicken soup last night. Eddie didn't eat it. Today it's my turn to vomit. So, we think it's the chicken from the supermarket which is spoil. I still have some chicken in the freezer. Is it fine for Lycan to eat or should I throw them away?

Just my opinion, if it is not fit for me to eat, my dog is not eating it either.

Toss it, also the dogs might not give you enough warning to be let out of the house.

I completely agree with this. However, chances are your dog would have no reaction to it considering you can't handle most of the bacteria in raw chicken a dog could have (though I know we are talking cooked here, just saying). Rogue ate chicken that gave me salmonella (by far one of the most miserable 2 weeks of my life- she bit my finger when eating a chicken wing as a pup and as a reflex, i put my hand in my mouth, bad idea) and was fine. |

I'd throw it away also. Dogs can handle meat that humans cannot, like meat that is slightly spoiled or freezer burnt they can generally process just fine. I wouldn't make a habit of feeding such meat but if it's there I wouldn't throw it away. However, in your case Michelle, you know the meat is bad and don't know exactly why and that would prompt me to toss it and not take any chances. Better safe than sorry. _________________

I threw all the meat away. But he already ate the same chicken that I cooked twice before I know there's something wrong with it. So far so good, nothing wrong with him. I'll probably feed him some other meat or kibble and can food for a while. The weather here is crazy. One day it's hot the other day it's cold. We suspect the meat seller did not store the meat properly in this weather.
