Welcome! Smile 5 weeks seems a little young - but this forum has a lot of helpful information Smile

May I ask how come you got them at five weeks? I know the norm is to keep them with their mother until they're at least 8 weeks old. Smile

Well, the important thing is, you got them now and you can give them a better home than that breeder probably ever could. Smile Good on you for doing what's best for the pups.

Like I said, it'll be a handful, but if you've got the puppies' best intentions at hand, hopefully everything will work out amazingly well!

Did you get them to a vet to take a look at the sores? Hopefully it's nothing contagious.

Yuki is bi-eyed. I originally wanted a both blue eyed red husky pup but when I went to the breeders and picked Yuki out, I didn't care what coloring she had or what color her eyes were, just that I knew she was to be my pup. Don't worry too much about their eye color, it only makes them more unique <3

They're both probably going to be pure white. Also, a puppies eye color will keep changing until around 10 weeks. Most puppies are born with blue eyes, doesn't mean they will keep them.

Aside from proper food and love, a vet visit is the absolute most important thing you can do for these babies right now! These will have worms and will need to begin their deworming meds. They likely have fleas and fleas and ticks can be deadly to tiny puppies. These babies are going to ultimately cost you LOTS of money....

They are cuties! Welcome!

Yeah, unfortunately, the thing about the vet is very true... Try and scrape together whatever you can afford to in order to see the vet. Also, check if there are any low-cost vets around you as well - you might be able to do a payment plan - the first check isn't expensive at all - and neither is the deworming / flea-tick medication.

Keep us posted! Smile

What we do for our money problems is pay to go to Banfield the vet in Petsmart. They have a plan where you pay 33.95 per dog each month for a year to have them get all their shots, their spay or neuter, deworming, everything. You also get a discount on any products you need like flea and Heartworm meds. So that could be an option. We are college students so I understand the money problems. We love Banfield though!

we got a emergency vet that cost $90. which is the cheapest vet around and they are always open.
which isnt bad.. until you have 2 puppies.

Looks like he might get a parti-eye. My girl has that, half the eye is brown the other half is blue.

Have you looked into credit care? Its like a credit card but you don't have to pay any money back for six months I believe (I've never had to use it but some people I know with birds have and love it.) And you cand use it for yourself for medical things as well, not just for the vet. But its a good way to go so these pups can get the care they need.

They're gorgeous btw! Welcome to the forum! Very Happy

yea i was reading about the different eye types the other day.

it looks like its half and half and the other is brown. maybe it wont change and one will be brown and the other will be half and half.. be unique.

i will look into the card. thanks!

I agree with Care Credit or any credit line, honestly. It is essential to do all the vet visits needed up to 16 weeks, especially with your two being so incredibly young. Waiting too long could potentially cause very serious illnesses for your pups.
