Hi everyone...still new here so I hope I'm posting in the right area...

I was wondering if any of could take some guesses on what Nyla could be mixed with. She's 3.5 mths old and is 22lb...very sweet and incredibly smart. Her mom is a husky (see link below) but it seems like there could have been multiple dads to the litter. She has green eyes, black tipped hair, very soft and smooth coat (except her tail where the hair is a bit thicker and coarse feeling) and...velvet floppy ears. Besides getting bigger, the main difference has been that her coat got darker...black tipped and the insides of her legs, belly have become snow white.

Any guesses would be appreciated.

Maybe a lab??

Her tail and expression makes me think lab. If it was one that is (or carries) chocolate it could explain the red in her coat and eye color (if mom also carried red).
Whatever it is, she sure is a cutie!

The tail makes me think lab...but the skin on her face..some sort of hound..? Shes cute whatever she is!

Thanks for the answers so far everyone. We dismisse chocolate lab because of how tall and slim she is. She also has a tendency to walk and smell down...similar to a hound. When she hears something she will put her tail straight and lift one paw ... Honestly, we're not sure but do plan do to a Wisdom Panel dna test on her just out of curiousity. We've had people say she could be mixed with a beagle, vizsla, ridgeback... Countless ... It's difficult guessing because the entire litter is different. Two look like her really, the other looks shepard and then two are all black and lab looking. Her mom was ...busy. I just like to know so I can read up on the breed and be able to answer the question we get a gazillion times : "wow, she's cute..what is she?" (I'm tempted to say': A puppy! She's a puppy! "
LoL anyway... Instead of saying oh husky mix...I'd like to be able to answer.

What a cute pup! I love husky mixes... my girl's dad was a husky, mom was a chow x australian shepherd. My first impression when I saw Nyla's pics was border collie or australian shepherd. But after really looking, her ears seem to large and coat too short to be mixed with those breeds. Now I'm thinking maybe pointer. My old roommate has a pointer mix and he's got very similar ears, eyes, facial structure, and expression. Plus her pigment (liver) is common in pointers. This is a picture of my old roommate's pointer mix Bogie (with baby Maya):



So basically dad had to have large floppy ears, a short coat, and liver/chocolate/red pigmentation (or be a carrier of that color, if husky mom carried red too). Hmmm! I love playing the breed guessing game.

I wonder if she is part pointer? In any case she is very cute!

Welcome, it is fun to guess, but hard to really know for sure. Look forward to hearing the results of the DNA. We did DNA on Char and our results were not even close to what we thought his mix was.
