So, last night hubby was eating raisins (needs the iron). I took the cup away and put it on the counter. Stupid me! Asia was asleep at the time. I sat at the computer and I heard her get up. I ran to the kitchen and she had her face in the cup. There wasn't much left in there, but I'm sure she got some of it. I gave her some hydrogen peroxide to make her puke up whatever she ate. Waited 15 minutes and nothing. So I gave her some more. Still no puke. Finally 2 hours later she puked up the carrot juice that I had mixed with the hydrogen peroxide, but no raisins. Thing is that she puked twice at night, puked up her breakfast, and just puked up foamy bile after eating grass.I hope I didn't give her too much hydrogen peroxide! I called the vet and they said to keep an eye on her. She's acting normal except that she hasn't pooped and her nose is dry.

I'm going to put her on a bland diet for now and see if she holds that down. My poor baby.

We gave Anna straight hydrogen perioxide no juice or anything else. The emergency vet I called when Anna ate a sock told me every 15 minutes a tablespoon of straight hydrogen but if she doesn't throw it up after an hour of this then I should bring her in. I think we gave her a total of two tablespoons so thirty minutes later she threw it back up. I made sure to do it in the bathroom too, easier clean up. The lady did warn me that she would throw up everything, and she did I thought it would never end.

I am sorry this is happening hopefully she didn't eat to many if any at all. She might not have to potty considering she threw up her breakfast so if she eats dinner and doesn't throw up then I would worry if she doesn't have to potty a couple of hours later. Of course I'm not an expert by no means but just throwing that in there. Keep us updated for sure!

Yikes. I know exactly how you feel!!!!

The girls got some raisins not even a month ago before I clued in and remembered grapes were bad.

We did the same thing and though Ripley up chucked right away Tika wouldn't.

Apparently Yellow Mustard works well too though I've never tried myself.

I've been told by a trainer Sea Salt works amazing, though I've also read salt is actually poisonousness to dogs, so I've refused to ever try.


We looked into it when Tika wouldn't puke and In terms of grapes they are just one of those weird poisons for pups... Though they know and it is accepted they are poisonousness the dosage and the side effects aren't 100% clear. Apart from shutting down liver functions in the worst case they can't pin point exactly what or why it happens, or at least that was all we found and we looked like crazy.

The really bad cases are also very few and far between. The quantity that they have to eat, as far as we found, is a bunch.

Trust me, we were just as worried and all Teek did was burp all night.


I wouldn't worry too much and do like your vet said. Give it some time. Unless she really slows down and won't eat / drink tomorrow I would be worried.

If she is still biting Kody, and bugging Mya for now you should be fine. Just watch her throughout the day if you can

Oh NO!! I hope everything is ok.

Libby ate an entire bag of chocolate chips once and the vet said to give salt or peroxide every 15 minutes until vomitting. It took a while, but when it started i have never seen so much puke. The vet also said to make oatmeal and give pepto bismo or tums afterwards to coat her tummy and help settle it.

It all helped but she didnt like me for a bit.

I thought the same about the potty. No food in her tummy = no potty, but still not good. Hopefully after she has her boiled chicken she'll go.

I was freaking out, Chris! Still am kinda. Not because of the raisins, but because of the puking. She's not instigating play with Kody, but plays with him when he harasses her. She's a little down, but nothing too alarming.

Raisins are only toxic in large amounts. The hydrogen peroxide will make her feel sick for a little while. Hope she feel better!!

I was hoping you would jump in on this thread Brooke Thanks! I just got so scared when I saw her eating them. I freaked!

Oh I know! Kale ate a small square of milk chocolate a few months back that my dad had left on the coffee table (he got reamed lol) and I did the same thing! I called my boss and he said he should be fine and to just watch him. Thankfully I didn't have to induce vomiting. Now if it was dark chocolate I would have before calling!

Cato stole grapes right of ny hand when he was younger. He wouldn't puke. I used a teaspoon of salt after the peroxide failed miserably and voila, all was well. It didn't hurt him and it was instantaneous. Not to mention, I feel more comfortable using salt than peroxode

It depends on the individual dog, how many raisins she ate, and how much peroxide she got.Is withhold food tonight and give her system a ret and try and give her breakfast tomorrow. If she's not interested in eating tomorrow, or can't hold down food in the morning then I'd take her in to get checked out. I hope she feels better soon! Keep us posted!

After I posted last night she drank some gatorade, but from a spoon. That took a LONG time as you can imagine...lol. She's doing much better today, but still hasn't pooped. She ate her boiled chicken at 6am and didn't throw up. She's also been drinking water and was ready to go on their run when I came back with Mya. I kept an eye on her, but she did fine. After that she went to petsmart with me. I think I'll try to give her kibble tonight and see what happens.

Awww poor Asia! I hope you feels better soon. I know exactly how you feel! When Hayden was about 3 months old he ate and entire bad of semi-sweet chocolate chips! I completely freaked (the higher the chocolate contact the more toxic) and he was perfectly fine.

Our daycare kid's drop raisins all the time and the dog's pick them up (I try to make sure this doesn't happen). I wouldn't worry too much. Peroxide may just be upsetting her tummy.
