Seems more like playing to me. I've seen a few dog fights. The ones I've witnessed once they've started they didn't stop until myself or someone else pulled them apart. They've all led to injury as well. They sound quite a bit more vicious than what Sophie and Kay are doing. Different breeds of dogs too, but in my opinion it seems more like play.

The only time i get worried that it's a fight is when Kay lets out those viscous snarling noises, it's about the same noises she lets out when she fights with Maya. Although Maya and Kay's fights only lead to tiny wounds that don't bleed or no injuries at all. When Kay tries to play like that with Maya it leads to a fight since Maya doesn't like to play like that.

Thats called self regulation. With what you presented I wouldn't worry a bit.

Often times when I think Adobo & Biko are about to tear each others face off when they both have the wrinkled nose with lots of noise they sort of stop look at each other and I think they're checking the other to make sure they are okay. Then they start all over again.

Thanks, i wont worry then. Smile

When Maya and Kay wrestle they'll stop before it gets too intense shake it off then go for round 2.

Today when Sophie whimpered while Kay was chewing on her foot, Maya looked at them, then Sophie snapped at Kay because she wouldn't stop. So they got into a little spat and Maya snarled and slammed her front feet on the couch where they were fighting. Then Kay left, it was quite cute.

I'd say just play, too. Huskies are vocal. My two go at each other daily rough housing, and Jenna will pin Steele, chew on his legs, shake his neck scruff, show teeth snarling, the whole nine yards, but the minute Steele whins/gets tired of it, he lets her know with some signal, and that's it. Play time is over.

The way Sophie is jumping on the couch and bowing down, using her paw on the other, and nipping at the back of the neck all tells me it's just play. Again, I wouldn't be worried about the growling. They're vocal animals. Mine sometimes sound like they're ready to rip one another apart, but I know it's all just talk and play. =]
