| Snow has been so bad the past 12 hours. I'm ready to pull my hair out! With the colder weather comes crazy husky snow and I forgot how much of a PITA she is when the weather changes! Obviously I'm in Florida so we barely see REALLY cold weather....but she woke up at 4am to play outside....so I let her out and she did her zoomies for a good 45 minutes..once she tired out and came back in I didn't put her in her crate, thinking she would just pass out on her bed...instead she got ahold of my sons Thor hammer and ate half of it, then destroyed the rest. We woke up to her trying to throw up parts of the hammer so i immediately put peroxide down her throat and she was fine 30 minutes later after everything came up. We called the vet just to give her a heads up on what she did and the vet said she should be fine....well...fast forward two hours and she decided to open the front door and go on an expedition. (I could tell you how I feel about my hubby teaching her to open doors...but that's another discussion on its own) usually her opening the doors is no problem because we have a glass screen door, however it was propped open to bring stuff inside. She came right back after calling her so I went ahead and hooked her harness on to take her for her walk....that lasted a whole maybe 4 minutes before she saw a cat and broke the harness buckle...so then she set off after the cat....so my pregnant butt chases after her and after the cat climbed a tree I caught her, got the leash on her collar and brought her home. We put her and the other dogs in the backyard and I thought maybe I'd have 5 minutes to myself when my neighbor brings snow to the front door and said she watched her leap over our fence. Our fence is 6ft high...so yeah...
So I took her to petsmart, bought a new collar and different type of harness and a tie out system and although I don't plan on using the tie out, it's there for if I need to be inside with my son while she is being ridiculous. While in petsmart she met a new husky friend and was actually being her normal good self...until she decided to pee all over the floor. Now she's sleeping on her bed like nothing ever happened and its been a normal day. Hopefully she got it all out of her system today and my well behaved baby girl comes back lol |

| I have had days like that with Ghost. Seriously, I chuckled a little reading this, because we are going through the exact same thing. It's been pretty cold here in the Panhandle the last couple weeks too. We've been taking Ghost out on her leash if we're trying to do a quick potty trip, otherwise she goes insane with zoomies for an hour. She went to daycare today (haven't been in a couple weeks), so hopefully she got out some of her cold weather energy. She's going to be REAL fun when we move up north in a few weeks _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | She is back at it this evening...this time I found her sleeping in the new nursery, in the crib we just set up and she decided she was bringing her favorite antler in the crib with her so now there is slobber EVERYWHERE. I hooked her to the golfcart and we went on an extra long run/ride and she is now locked up in her crate. All the other dogs, including the husky we are fostering, refuse to go outside unless its absolutely necessary, and run right back in after they pee...but not this wild child. Lol
Meredith, you will definitely have to let us know how ghost acts when you move! Snow is coming with us to WV this thanksgiving when we take the foster up to my sister, so I can only imagine what's going to happen lol |

| I'm so glad we dont get really cold weather here. I used to want it, but after reading this, I'm glad we're the sun burnt country.
can someone explain Zoomies for me? Is that where they run around like crazy, they get that look in their eye and just go for it, leaping over things, weaving in and out of obstacles? |

That's exactly what zoomies are Ghost does laps around our yard at top speed and refuses to come in. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | oh really. Freya is an absolute Pro at them then. She is a mental case. I have a track now imbedded in my back yard of her Zommie run.
Now this is me and my over analysing mind, but I always wonder what it would feel like to be hit by her when she is running at top speed like that. I'm curious if it would just bruise me of dislocate my knee or something. Not that I'd ever leap in front of her when she's going crazy, just my crurious mind. |

| Yeah, now that it has been getting colder in MI Onyx has been in out in out in out, nonstop...lol. He did his zoomies the other day and I swear when he made a turn at full speed his side was clipping the grass he was leaning so much. Hopefully she calms down for you a little bit so you life isn't too hectic. - Freya's Mummy wrote:

I think it would be like stepping in front of a small truck . Onyx would do this to me at a slower approach when I get home from work, because he is that excited and he used to bounce of my legs....He doesn't do it as much thankfully now that he is 60 lbs. |

| Freya doesnt jump on me at all. She stopped at about 3 months so I've never really experienced her full body weight push into me. I can pick her up still, but it's really difficult. She's pushing 20kg (44lb) at 6 months old. |

| She waited until 7 to wake me up this morning..so shes getting better haha she is currently doing her zoomies with the others outside....i tried to get a video but all you see is a white blur go by lol. I think i would be scared to even attempt to get in front of her while she is at full speed. She and my greyhound usually collide while snow is at it and it knocks my greyhound to the ground. We are going to attempt to take Snow trick or treating with us tonight (this is our first halloween with her) so it will be interesting to see how she reacts. She's dressing up as a pig.....which is fitting since she loves to eat ANY and EVERYTHING lmao |

And that's how Kelly dislocated her shoulder last year . But I feel your pain..... My two have been very "pacy" the last couple of days.... Though I think it has more to do with them hunting the moles and Skunks that are in the back yard..... ~Chris~ _________________ Is this about the cake problem?
