Okay so Ares has been a disaster since we got him. He drinks constantly, and pees more then any dog I've ever seen and it smells horrible! He's completely housebroken but tonight, in the last 4 hours, he's peed all over my house twice, and I've let him out 4 times in between those 4 hours. I'm getting so fed up with this, it's disgusting and it's driving all of us nuts. I've been dealing with Embry and his UTIs and I don't think it's that. Any other ideas?

Diabetes or cushings? Could be any kind of autoimmune.

Just reading the subject line made me suspect diabetes. Would advise vet visit but before going check to see if he should "fast" for 12 hours before blood sugar test.

Maybe it's some sort of yeast infection? What does it smell like jennet? Have you given them a concentrated sample to run? With the amount of pee that comes out, is Kat clearer or more dark yellow?

It's just an insanely strong urine smell. It's looked normal colored every time he goes, it's just in very large amounts. He usually will be on the concrete outside the back door of our house, and he can easily pee on half of it every time he goes out..

I guess I'll be calling the Vet again for another appt, ugh these dogs are going to kill me..

My puppy has been doing this too. We got her a 9 weeks and basically up until she was 11 months old she was drinking so much water and peeing constantly, and she would do it in her crate as well. Even though it has gotten better, it's still making potty training near impossible. I talked to my vet and he didn't think it was Diabetes, but while I was at work I was talking to a customer who also owns a husky and she was talking about a medicine that "tones" the bladder. I would talk to your vet and get their opinion, but if they don't think it's Diabetes or Cushing's, then maybe ask about that medicine. Best of luck!

I'll assume Embry has been peeing in the house????

If so could Ares be "marking" over top of Embry's spots?

He hasn't in a very long time, and when he does he does it on the tiles. Ares is more of inconsistency, he will get up and walk while peeing, some times I don't think he even knows he's peeing.

There was a thread about something like this that I read when I first joined. I can't remember what it was titled, but I think it was Balonsmom who was posting about it?

I distinctly remember that she said he would walk while peeing, but I don't remember what the problem ended up being. I wish I could find the thread, but maybe you'll have better luck!

We've had issues with Embry walking and peeing too, and each time it was UTIs but with Ares it hasn't been UTIs he's weird, maybe he just has a small bladder, who knows..
