| I was just wondering if anyone has gotten their dogs this and what their opinion is on it:
http://www.amazon.com/Himalayan-Dogs-1-Piece-80-Pounds-2-Ounce/dp/B001J9SUHG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346878142&sr=8-1&keywords=himalayan+dog+chew
I was thinking about getting one for Saber. |

Probably from the yak and cows milk. Is Kale lactose intolerant? Really though when I read the topic line of "Himalayan Dog Chew" I half expected to see a dog chewing on a Sherpa. |

| Ginger and Storm loves them but they don't last as long as they claim. I still buy them mainly for Ginger because she's particular with her chews! Thank goodness these don't give her soft poop....

| I'm just trying to look for something that lasts longer than 5-10 minutes with him! He likes bully sticks, Zuke's Z-Bones and Blue Buffalo Blue Bones. He doesn't like any nylabone, Kong or everlasting treat ball. I did buy him a split elk antler and he wanted nothing to do with it. I tried soaking it in chicken broth and he still didn't want it. I'm going to try to rough it up with sandpaper and see if that does anything to entice him. |

| Well, I tried sandpaper on the elk antler and Saber still didn't want it. Guess that's another $10 down the drain! |

| S&J could care less for the antlers, have u tried some knuckle bones or butcher bones? Give the chews a try but you may only get a few hrs from them _________________ |

| I haven't tried knuckle bones or butcher bones. Do the dogs just wear those down over time? I used to give him rawhide bones and he LOVED those. Then I started reading too many horror stories so I stopped giving him those years ago. |

| I think this is the bone I got for Storm once and it BIG!
http://www.naturalk9supplies.com/Dog-Treats/merrick-the-tank-meaty-knuckle.aspx
It lasted forever! He chewed some of the bone, but after a few days, I just threw it away because all the meat jerky was gone.
I now get these for them in the 5" cut, and they will last a couple of hours, but it cost a lot less - I buy 24 at a time so it's even less.
http://www.naturalk9supplies.com/Dog-Treats/merrick-gi-bone.aspx
Otherwise, I'll give them frozen raw marrow bones (2" cut) that will last an hour or so until they get all the marrow out.

| Those look like something he would really like. I think I'll give it a try and buy one for him and see how it goes. |

| If it the one I bought once for Storm for his birthday, it was almost as big as his head...literally!
Ginger doesn't really like beef jerky bones, or any bone for that matter, unless there's marrow in it! _________________ |

| I just bought one of each. If the knuckle bone is as big as his head, he might not know what to do with it! Thanks for the recommendations! |

Thanks for the recommendations! let me know if the knuckle bone is the massive one almost as big as his head! LOL! Storm had a hard time carrying it in his mount, but he did and once he plopped down in front of that sucker, I didn't hear a peep out him for a while! _________________ |

| Haha! That reminds me of when I used to give Saber rawhide and I got him this giant bone. It was so long that when he had it in his mouth he couldn't get through doorways! He kept trying a few times before he realized it wasn't happening! Priceless! I'll definitely let you know how big the knuckle bone is when I get it. |

| I never tried the antlers my vet hates them she says dogs are chipping and breaking teeth on them, don't know if this is true since so many people use them. Balon loves a hoof, and well they are really hard!~ |

| I got these for Saber about a month ago: http://www.naturalk9supplies.com/Dog-Treats/merrick-gi-bone.aspx I got this in the 7" cut. http://www.naturalk9supplies.com/Dog-Treats/merrick-the-tank-meaty-knuckle.aspx This was almost the size of his head. I just got around to trying them out on him Saturday since he's been having some tummy issues. The little sh*t turned his nose up at both of them! He licked them then walked away. I left them on the floor for a while and he never went to chew them no matter how much I encouraged him. UGH! I also bought him this in the 7oz size: http://www.naturalk9supplies.com/Dog-Treats/darford-mega-bone-salmon.aspx He wouldn't touch this one either! I broke off two of the rounded edges and he took it right away from my hand! I don't know if he was intimidated by the bigger bones or what. I thought bigger is better but maybe not in his case! He used to chew foot long rawhides so I don't get it. Okay, venting over. |

| Sorry but Its funny how they become picky eaters. Thunder does that but then if you try to take it he will scarf it down like a little Jerk head. |

| Ginger never liked ANY bones at all. Slowly, she started to take to just 2 kinds...and now there are a few that she likes, one being the Merrick GI bones as well as the himalayan chews.
Maybe give it a few tries before you give up on a particular bone. You don't want to make your pup even more picky by giving up on the first try on a new 'food'.

| Ugh mine are the same way, they are SO picky about the bones. They won't do kongs either so its really hard trying to find something to occupy them. I haven't thrown any of my bones away yet though, I'm hoping Yuki will try them out when shes older >:] Best of luck with your pup^ |

| I'm definitely going to give it a couple more tries. If he still won't take to it, I might try a smaller bone. I did get him a himalayan chew but he hasn't tried it yet. Maybe this weekend. I don't remember him being this picky when he was a puppy. I guess he's making up for lost time! |
