Getting my pup next week & still need to go out & buy everything.

Am in the UK so shop at places like pets at home, pets corner & ebay.
Can anyone recommend me a good lead/harness for training, a good crate size (have read huskies need xxl 48' but is this not too big for a puppy?) also some good chew toys & anything else people can think of thats essential for pup

A 42" crate is plenty big for a husky. Mine are full grown adults and have tons of room in the 42". Look for the crates that have a divider so that you can adjust the room in the crate as they grow.
We have a thread going about everyone's favorite leashes and collar somewhere...

A kong will be a lifesaver. Fill it with plain yogurt or pumpkin or peanut butter, freeze it, then place it in the crate with the pup when you leave and they will be happy campers!

as long as you dont end up with a super sized husky the 42" crate WITH divider to move as it grows will be plenty big. im in the US so sorry cant help with the other shopping

A 42" is even super duper roomy. Mine are in 36" crates, with the 36" wire crate being very roomy for my 55 lb girl and the 36" airline crate fine for the 77 lb boy. We ship rescues in a 40" airline crate, which is large enough to stand in without ducking (airline requirements) - the 40" looks positively massive compared to the 36" inch one. If your husky is from a reputable breeder that breeds to the standard, a 36 or 40" are good.

My two dog are full grown and we use a 36 inch one for the large rmale dog and a 32 inch on for smaller female one. Of course my two are a bit smaller than some huskies. My male is 22" tall and 50 lbs and my female is 20 inches and 42 lbs..

I have an XL crate for maggie. It is plenty big my husband's best friend's mastiff has been put in there before. she is huge!

So I think yours will be plenty big!

Although an XXL crate be too big I think a little extra room is no bad thing..

For the first time I won´t buy a special harness, the pup will grow so fast, that the first one will become useless quicker than you can say Husky .

You should also buy something th epup can chew on, they need something to chew on, and you don´t want to be it your shoes .

I think a 42 or 48 crate will be good. I have a 42 and Lycus fits in it just fine and he's 70 lbs. Although, I'm not too sure how tall he is, but he is fairly tall.

I got a 42" crate off ebay for $54 + free shipping that comes with the divider. Callie's still small so right now, she's only using about half the crate and from the size of it, I've never seen any husky that wouldn't fit in this crate. It's like 42"x28"x28"

It's been mentioned but definitely get a kong. Stuff it at night, toss it in the freezer and it's all set as a treat for the next day. Just remember if you fill it with peanut butter or something similar, they'll need plenty of water. A fun thing to use for meal time is the kong wobbler. You can put kibble in there and they have to work to get it out. Keeps them busy for about, oh, 5 minutes. I also strongly suggest the puppy nylabones. Be sure to get the puppy ones! Callie's had them since day one and still isn't bored of them.

For the harness/collar/leash, as Dennis said, don't worry about that yet. Get the ones that don't cost too much. The pup probably won't pull until they've at least outgrown the first collar. They really do grow fast. Callie's 5 months and I've upped collar sizes 3 times already. No use spending $20 a collar every other week.

If you must get a bed, also try not to spend a lot on them. Most pups will either turn them into a chew toy or a potty stop so hold off on the pricey one until he/she's a little older.

Something else I've found useful for puppyhood, baby wipes/puppy wipes. Callie gets dirty pretty much on a daily basis and it's not good to constantly bathe her so the wipes help get her cleaned up without doing damage to her coat.

All mine have 48" crates, its overkill. Locally I only found the pink one I wanted for cali in a 48" so I looked for them all to match. And I found 48" crates were being sold 2nd hand cheaper than the 36 and 42" models. I got Mika's 48 for only 30 bucks where I used to live.

I have size 42 crates for both Balon and Ruby (my lab) my lab ended up being tiny at only 55 lbs so it is way big for her lol. Balon will probably fill it out better since he is taller then her!
