2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Coat changing colors. Empty
PostSubject: Coat changing colors.   Coat changing colors. EmptyThu Oct 04, 2012 12:19 pm

Hi every one, I rescued a 2 year old male at the beginning of spring. His coat was a bright orangeish red. Now that he has blown his spring coat his color changed to brown. Is that common? If I knew how to add pictures I would show you what he looks like. And with his color change also his personality. He was badly abused when I got him he trusted no human. I've been working with him and letting him choose when he wants to come close to me and when he has had enough. As long as there is a fence between us he will let me put my hand through the fence and pet him. But when I'm in the yard he will keep a 3 foot distance. But there are times when he comes up and actually wants to play but I still cant touch him. He has been acting frisky and bouncing all over the place. I would have to corner him to put him on a leash for our walks, but I recently dislocated my knee and haven't been able to interact with him as much as I used to, but it seems that he missed me and gets excited when he sees me. He even wags his curly q tail when I call his name. He isn't the first Husky that I have rehabilitated. He is the one that has taken the longest to come around and trust me and he knows I will never harm him.

Thank you. I've owned a few huskies and he is the only one that has changed coat colors. One of his son's is also changing colors as well. I also have a blonde and white female. Which I have never seen another I've always seen light red/white solid white or a dirty white. She is also a wooly coat.
