| Nikita has been shedding now for 2 weeks. she sheds everyday but the last 2 weeks have been crazy. we have tried a number of brushs and different brands. we have spent a few good dollars on these item and not one item is workin for her. today i bought a "rake" our pet store told me this should be the best for her though it is meant for dogs with undercoat, and nikita has not gotten her yet. it seems to bring the hair up but does not collect it or help it brush away. I was wondering what everyone else uses or if anyone has any tricks? and if you could tell me the brand. thank you |

| we use a fur buster, rake and shed n blade. sounds like you have a husky on your hands we can brush S&J a few times a day and they will still have fur come out if its shedding season. one thing to help with shedding is doing a good food, i forgot what your feeding. and to keep up on the brushing every day or like the rest of us just give up, live with the fur tumbles on the floor and not lose your mind! _________________ |

| I mainly rely on my high velocity dryer. As far as brushes I use a double row, rotating pin undercoat rake, a Furminator, and slicker. None of the brushes can conquer the entire coat alone, but they compliment each other well. Different brushes work better for different parts of the coat.
Two things that I don't have but know work well for others are strippers and shedding blades. _________________ |

| This morning I brushed Freya, gave her a bath, brushed her while she was in hte tub and then again while I was drying her. About an hour after she was completlly dry I brushed her again and the amount of fur I got off her was unbelievable. It has been gradually getting worse and worse as the days turn into weeks. The weather is starting to get hot here now and she is casting terribly. By the end of it my son's bedspread had gone from multicoloured to a blanket of orange fur.
The main thing I use on her is a pin brush. |
