Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | Good morning: first off, i must say, i am completely new to a online forum. so all apologizes for silly little questions. As my name states, our bear, is Neva, white husky, and the terriers, well they are boston terriers. they all get along for the most part, however, Neva sure likes to play more roughly with our bostons, Lilly and Raven. Overall Neva is wonderful, however, i assume there are some typical husky things that she does, that i could use some help in understanding that its her breed and not poor training. Since she is our first husky, we are still learning the breed personality standards. so, for my first questions, when walking, should we continue to keep her in heel, or allow her to be ahead of us? We do want to start having her pull and expend her energy that way, but are not ready to begin that yet. Thanks, i look forward to meeting new friends and learning more about typical husky personalities. Cheers Bearterriers |

| Welcome, I am new to the husky world as well, but with Thunder, our 5 1/2 month old I let him walk in front of me as long as he is not pulling(there is slack on the leash) as soon as he starts to pull I stop and so does he. They have the urge to pull/run and you can not fault something that has been breed into them for many many years, but you can teach them proper manners =-). |

| I don't require heels from my dogs on our walks, and only encourage/allow pulling when they have their harnesses on and we're running or brisk walking. If it's cooler out i'll usually put the harnesses on them just because I KNOW they're going to be more spunky and want to pull. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?!
