Thank you for the welcome, and yes they are a bit of a handfull, but generally keep each other occupied, they give us a lot of laughter and love and we are really looking forward to being able to take them out, one week to go. Tracy xxx

I got my sibe two years ago and they are such fun at this age. At nearly two mine is still alot of fun too. I am starting to teach her to pull as I want her to scooter, but the fist attempt was a complete disaster!! I think I have done so well with loose lead walking that pulling seems alien

Hi again. I have read you can start training them at about 6 months. We have only been training now for 2 days and yesterday was a total disaster, but today went better. I upgraded the treats to hot dog sausage. I managed to get her consertration for about 10 minutes, nefore she got tired, so i think a little every day is the answer. I have a book coming from America which aparantly is a very basic guide to mushing. There is also a book by Daphne Lewis you can get over here which is quite useful although very basic.

Are you planning on using a scooter or a rig?

Glad it is going a bit better for you, we are hopefully planning on a rig they look a little bit more sturdy, more expensive but I am sure it will pay for itself in ours and the pups enjoyment

Hi

A rig looks fun, but you need 2 dogs and I am not sure in my case the dalmation is going to get sledding!! If I was to get another husky I think my house mate would kill me. I know he thinks one is enough.

With a rig and 2 dogs you can get involved with local sled dog groups and races.

Cheers
