Ever since I've had Juneau, I've always use a comforter to spread across the backseat of my Mustang. I usually have to clean it every week due to the dirt falling beneath the comforter and onto my leather seats. I'm also really anal about trying to keep the car clean (I don't mind the husky hair as much as the dirt/dust).

I was looking at buying some car liners from Amazon, but not very many seem to work with leather seats - they slide off as the dog moves around and exposes the leather.

http://www.amazon.com/Solvit-62283-Deluxe-Bench-Cover/dp/B000GL8HNA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347396699&sr=8-1&keywords=car+liner+for+pets

So I was thinking about sewing together a liner to put in the backseat for a more custom fit and to help my issue with the slipping fabric.

It's still being drafted, but I want something to repeal the dirt from creeping around any corners!

Any takers? lol

I also use a blanket in the backseat. I also put a towel around each of the bucket seats. Saber goes to the vet every two weeks so hair gets all over! Even on the ceiling! Right now I don't care as much since my car is 13 years old. But, in about two months I'm hopefully going to be getting a brand spanking new car and I've been thinking about what I'm going to do then!

Congratulations! I hope you get it. Yes, my mustang is a 2012 so I baby it pretty well. I just had a thought!

Why not use a sheet for the bottom layer to tuck in any small corners and etc, then lay the comforter above that to prevent nails from going through the sheet. :o I think I'll try this tonight. It's really bothering me lol. Black leather really shows dirt.

I use the AKC seat cover and it works wonders lol it keeps the car clean from the dogs and from my two year old. It's water resistant and you can get it to match the interior of your car.

I've actually been using that Petrider lol. It's ok, but it does slide around. But for me, it gets the job done. ESPECIALLY since Lycus is constantly muddy from playing outside or at the dog park and the cover is water resistant.

I have a harness from Puppia that I have on the girls, and the local bakery took some old leashes they bought from a rescue to help them and made me several 30" long couplers that link to the child seat restraints and hook them to the harness. It works great!
