| " what exactly does it mean to "blow a coat"?" it means you are owned by a husky and your life will never be hair free again! a coat blow will happen about twice a yr and last for 6 months a time _________________ |

Yup! I had some of that dip I brought to Jenn's party the other night....guess what? DOG HAIR! lol It just added flavor and protein. I'm pretty sure there was dog hair in my salsa too, but oh well _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I had the longest one in my morning V8 the other day...... Kelly was staring at me as I tried , unsuccessfully, to spit it into the sink. Enjoy the fur.... because there's no stopping it ~Chris~ _________________ Is this about the cake problem? What's the matter with you mathematicians, cake is never a problem. - Professor Lazlo

They blow their winter coat in the Spring to grow in their summer coat, and they blow their summer coat in the Fall to grow in their winter coat. You may not have noticed 2 distinct coat blow for your pup because some will have a contant shed from Spring through Summer. Some huskies will have about a month and then stop, and some will take months which will then run into each other making it seem like they shed all through Spring, Summer and Fall. |

If only it was that easy... I will say, my three shed less than Dakota did all by himself! He was 90% fur and 10% dog! |

O_O WE CAN NOT ESCAPE. we're going to try our the furmanator though, since it seems to be magical and get 'all' of the loose hair off most dogs |

| I'm going to try the ferminator aswell, it does seem to hold some mystical power among husky owners so I'm going to jump on the band wagon - Not that we need it just yet, but best to be prepared.

Doesn't hold anything over me! lol. I hate the furminator. A greyhound comb works just as well without damaging their guard hairs. That and an undercomb rake and pin brush. _________________ -Sara |

| I have heard some negative reviews from it, but also alot of positive, but I'm going to give it a go. I'm not going to buy the legitimate ferminator (I refuse to spend $100+ on a dog brush) so it wont be too much out of pocket expence. I'll give it a go, if I dont like it it wont be a major loss. Thanks I do appreciate everyone's views. I was looking into the undercoat rakes. I've never heard of a greyhound come but am going to google it right now |

| I have this model with the push-button to remove the hair. I made the mistake and paid 55 dollars at petsmart. Amazon for the win! Luna gets combed with this twice a week outside and the whole front yard is covered with hair. I let the wind take it away!

| I have a furminator brush and the thing works wonders. I do notice that it pulls out guard hairs as well, but it's very minimal and a small price to pay for how much it pulls from the undercoat. Got the big yellow one with the push button for $15 bucks on amazon or something. I stay away from pet stores at every opportunity. |

| Eh, we just use an undercoat rake and a slicker brush. If Delilah is being especially difficult that day we use the Zoom Groom. No furminator here, don't wanna rip the coat. |
