We just got our first husky two weeks ago....She is 8 months old. I am the one who mostly exercises her, feeds her. When I take her outside in the morning, she is the most unruly, bratty dog....she will try to chew and pull her leash and constantly jumps up on me. This morning, she jumped so high and bit my face.......I have tried to put my knee up to stop her from jumping but that makes it worse. I layed her down on her back and said "NO" in a firm voice....it helped for just a few minutes. Then she will start up again. She also tries to jump on people when they enter the house....

I wish someone would have disciplined her before, but this is what I got when I adopted her. My husband said I have not established dominance with her.....How do I do that????

Try ignoring the action completely, then when she is in a sit position and only then tell her she is a good dog. See she is getting attention from this, even if it is negative to her it is still attention. The face biting seems like she is overexcited and not doing it out of aggression(still this should be addressed so she does not bite anyone else.)

Evelyn seems to not be "vicious" towards me or people who come to the house....it's more like play, but I don't want it to turn into that video. She doesn't snarl or show her teeth at me.....it's more of "pay attention to me". She tried it about an hour ago in the kitchen and as soon as she jumped up on me, I ignored her. She didn't get a response so she gave up.....

That video is very interesting though...I have seen it before.....

You will treat it the exact same. You are teaching her "this behavior does not get you what you want."

When we adopted Appa he acted the same way with my wife, but not me. He would jump all over her. We extinguished the behavior through time-outs and "NILIF" training.

Just know that NOTHING is a sure fire fix in a day, you ignoring her worked, so stick with it. However, don't forget to give her what she wants when she's good. It's easy to ignore the beasts when they are behaving, but that's particularly when you can't ignore them.

Claudette this ain´t playing, she does not respect you tha tis the problem. You need to establish leadership that is the only way to stop this.
For example, when she jumps on you just turn around and go away. No attention to behaviour that you don´t want.
What is important too, you make all decisions in any situations not the dog.
As soon as you establish leadership such problems will be gone.

Nala acts similar to this, not acting aggressive, but just disrespectful whenever she's hyper - jumping, putting her mouth on us, and she attacks our legs while we walk.

The sad thing is though, we got her when she was 5 weeks old, like Deisel. It's incredible how crucial those few weeks are, and the irresponsibility of her breeder really upsets me :/

But nevertheless, it is my responsibility now to teach her how to behave correctly.
