Yukon is an adoptable dog in greater Vancouver. They have him down as a malamute/husky cross approximately four years old, although I think he could be a young malamute. He weighs 75lb. He was found as a stray, but he walks very nicely on leash. It seems that he might have some issues with some other male dogs. I met him briefly and he is very very sweet. Hopefully he will find a home soon. His full details are here.

There is a very pretty husky called Susqwa at Vancouver Animal Control at the moment too, and they have a husky puppy too.

Wow, Suskwa is exactly what I was looking for when I started to look into dogs & huskies last year (before I got my Shala). I'd try to adopt her instantly if I didn't live in Ontario (boo). I'll be in Vancouver early next year, but that's obviously too far away and I don't think they'd adopt a dog out to someone that would have to fly it home, haha. She sounds lovely though, wish I had even a chance at taking her home.

Tried to look at the husky/mal, but got a page error?

I think that means the mal/husky found a home. I'm not in the shelter this week so I don't know the details (they do sometimes transfer dogs between shelters). He's a gorgeous dog.

Vancouver Animal Control get a lot a huskies. In part it's because huskies tend to stray, but it's also because they have a really good network of volunteers. Other local animal controls sometimes transfer huskies to them, given that huskies don't do well in a shelter environment. They are still in kennels at VAC but the extra volunteers really help.

We got our dog, Ghost, from Vancouver Animal Control. Although they are a city shelter, they are no-kill.
