Puppy Peeing while walking? Empty
PostSubject: Puppy Peeing while walking?   Puppy Peeing while walking? EmptyThu Mar 08, 2012 8:10 pm

Hi everyone!

Nike has been doing great with potty training.. doesnt pee in her crate and only has accidents right in front of the door.

However today she peed twice while walking both times on the carpet. There is another 2 yo lab in the apartment since we got her.

Is this a form of marking? Have any of you experienced puppies peeing like this?

I don't know about the marking thing, but for the longest time (I think she's finally grown out of it) Ghost would start peeing outside, and then get up and start walking before she was done. Crazy sled dogs...

Well, especially if we are on our way to the park, Luka gets pretty impatient and will start to pee and then start walking while he is peeing for a good metre or two! Its funny to watch because he has his back legs set wider than usual and does a sort of waddle lol!

Kaiser just did this while walking across the living room floor
He didn't even seem to notice!! I'm not sure if this is marking (he's already pretty dominant over Dante) Or due at all to the fact that he just started "developing" but I have never seen him do this before!

Peeing while walking is much more normal for females, but they should always be aware they are doing it. If she's peeing in the house with another new dog there... it might be marking, especially if she didn't do it before.

However, dogs should always be aware that they are peeing. Amanda- if Kasier is peeing while walking and not noticing... that's not normal and I would get him checked out by a vet as soon as possible.

My dog was doing the same thing, turns out he had an infection, he was put on an antibiotic and is now doing much better.
