Whats up everyone? I am Alex and here is my 5 month old ball of awesome- Freya. I have really enjoyed reading a bunch of topics on here the past week especially the Hiking with Dogs posts by harrise they are very entertaining with great pics. Anyways, I live in Broomfield, CO, I am a senior at CU Boulder but after a year of living there it was time to get out of that interesting little town. I have only been in Colorado for 2 years but I love it. Hope the pics work.

On a side note . . . about the Colorado meet ups. . . I'm not actually in Colorado but I have yet to meet another Wyoming person on here. We travel to Fort Collins, Loveland and Denver for shopping frequently because its close. So I was wondering if I could potentially join in on a Colorado meet up?????

I've been planning to move to Aurora, CO with my boyfriend within the next year or so to attend the University of Colorado after I finish some pre-nursing classes down here in New Orleans.

It freaking hot right now! Not normal CO summer at all this yr..... let us know when u make it here

I'll most definitely put a post up on here when I do. But New Orleans is scorching at a normal 90-96 degrees practically every day since summer began! It's hotter than its ever been! How is winter in CO?

Winter is really bipolar here. It can snow like crazy for 3 hours and then be sunny and melted within the next hour. Some days you freeze your butt off, others are easily manageable. I get such bad body pains from the weather changes in the winter, though. Uhg.

Freya is gorgeous! I have to ask you what I asked the other member who has a husky named Freya... not a reference to Final Fantasy IX by chance, is it?

I got the name Freya from Norse Mythology. "Freyja" I believe it means "Lady" and is the goddess of love and beauty. Most movies or video games reference some sort of mythology, there are lots of awesome names haha. Coming from San Diego, CA where the weather never fails to get lower or higher than the 65-85 range, Colorado is great. They have this amazing thing here called seasons, something SOCAL lacks completely. The weather is unpredictable and dry though but at least I can look forward to the "colder" months. I never experience problems with it being so dry but I know most people carry lots of chapstick in the winter months. And were you planning on going to the University in Boulder or Denver?

Like Jenn said it's been a REALLY hot summer. The saving grace of dry heat doesn't even seem to help. I'm from the northeast and have been here for 5 years and I now HATE the humidity.

It has been hot. Holy cow I turned off my A/C for like 20 mins and me and maggie were dying. I think they said 98 today.

I would take the 90's over what we have been having the last two weeks it has been like 108, 110 111, 112 114 115 ... etc you get the idea. today it is like 102 so far today.
