I just walked into my son's bedroom to glitter everywhere! I know it wasnt either of the kids, because they're both asleep in their beds.
Freys's snout and lips are covered in beautiful gold, silver, green and red flecks of pretty.

She has opened the packet and broken the little viles of glitter open. I dont know if she's eaten any of the plastic bottle, but there are bits of it on the ground. Glitter is all through her mouth, stuck to hte roof of her mouth, all over her teeth.

Will it do any harm to her, or will she pass it as she would any other small foreign object?

I'm assuming all that will happen is her poop will sparkle, haha.

I'm hoping so, I'm kind of looking froward to sparkly poos lol, it'll be something different.

I walked into the room and it was like the kids had been set free. Except they were asleep. She really is my 3rd child.

We have toy bins with all their dog toys, and Rogue drags them ALL out and plays with them in the AM. Then I clean up and she starts dragging them out again. These dogs.

I'm sorry, :-/ It was 10.00 last night when I went to put her in her crate and found the mess.
It's not 1.20pm and all the glitter is gone. I didnt even think of taking pictures as I was just dumbfounded that my dog was behaving just as the kids do when I'm not looking lol.

She did 2 massive poos this morning, as per usual after she eats her breakfast, but from what I could see there was no pretties. Now I didnt go breaking it all up to find sparkles.

I find it hard enough picking the stuff up lol. And God help me if a bit gets on my hand or finger lol. I can deal with spew, puss, blood, urine, just not so great with poo lol.

If I'm really worried about something, she's potentially swallowed something and seems to be in pain or sensative in the tummy, or something doesnt look quite right in the poo, I will have a rummage through it to find out what she has injested, but thats about it lol.

It just so happens that I'm just a little bit of a "glitter expert" - LOL!! I work with children's musicals and drama productions, so we put a little (well, I confess, A LOT!) glitter on everything!!

The cheap, children's craft glitter is usually 6-sided and made of non-toxic plastic. I would imagine that it could still irritate the bowels, but I would not think it would be too concerning. Sometimes you find 4-sided glitter that, in my knowledge of glitter, is actually cheaper but has sharper corners. It would be a little more irritating, I would think.

Another category of glitter (and probably not what she ate if she found it in a kid's craft kit) is the glass glitter. It is extremely dangerous to ingest. This glitter is designed to be used by serious crafters in the making of jewelry, pottery, home accents, etc.

Hopefully she will be fine and have no ill effects from her "fun with glitter"!

She hasnt had any indication of irritation or pain. She is eating and drinking as per normal. She had her first go at raw lamb heart last night and this morning she had her dry food. She still has an appatite and is pooing as per normal. I followed her around yesterday afternoon waiting for her to do a poo - As i needed it for a hole she's started digging. From what I could see when I broke it up to put on her new dig site there wasnt much in the way of glitter, so whether it was just disguised by fecal matter or it has already come out in a previous deposit I'm not sure.

I found the last remaining vile of glitter that was unharmed. It appears they are the 6 sided glitter. They look almost circular.

Actually, I would imagine that the stomach acid would remove most of the shine from the cheap, plastic glitter. It's just made of thin, clear plastic coated in a metallic (probably) spray-on color.

One of the challenges that I have when gluing glitter on to various surfaces is finding a glue that will not remove this thin metallic color so that I just end up with little clear dots on my project!

Perhaps thats why I never noticed it in there. I looked at it but didnt go to extremes to find anything.
She's going to the vet tomorrow for her 16 weeks immunisations so I'll ask the vet then as well, just to be certain. She seems fine, her tummy isnt sentative when I poke and prod at it, she is running around being her crazy self and seems normal enough - Not that she was normal to begin with, but you catch my drift.
