Hey everyone! Sorry been busy and havent been on in a few weeks! Shadow is doing well at almost 12 his 2nd vet apt. was yesterdady and another clean bill of health and only 1 more parvo shot to go!! We finally found out that he loves the bed and thats where he is sleeping now at night time. He sleep for 8 hours un interrupted! Getting better!!!!

My question for the gurus is Shadows best friend noah is another husky who is 11 months, when shadow goes to see Noah he gets so exited. LIke when we took them both for a little walk yesterday i had him sit about 20 feet away from Noah before they interacted, cause he was pulling on the leash so exited. He makes the most high pitch ear piercing scream cause he wants to see him so bad, like we are torturing him!! Im trying to teach him to calm down before he meets the dog. He did it at the vets yesterday with another older beagal and scared him. He also does this when Noah walks away and creates a distance and he can still see him. What are your guys' thoughts training methods on this matter?

Also, he was 12 pounds at the vets. He is 12 weeks tmrw. Little light? His mom is 40 and dad is 55. Maybe a late bloomer?? I feed him TOTW almost 2 1/2 cups a day. Vet said hes very healthy tho.

Wait until he calms down release him to play. If doesn´t stop the behaviour no play. Might sound hard but if you let him play that way he thinks he just has to freak out to get what he wants.

Yeah my 15 month old does that as well. Screaming and thrashing at the end of the lead to get to other dogs. I often get funny looks from people like I'm torturing my dog. I am in the process of training him to be calm upon coming up on other dogs. No calm no play. But it seems to take ages for Titus to understand that. I went for a 3km walk in a large park and he pulls, scream, thrash for 2.5km. Imagine having a 68lbs dog doing that.

I was talking to a breeder friend who told me that most of her males have been this way in the beginning. She would have to walk them.for.an hour before shows or they would be wild! My pup does this too but now.that I walk him before.outings he is much better. I also carry treats in my pocket.with him and if I can't catch his attention i'll call his name hold a treat in my hand and when he is in a quiet stand stay he gets the treat...its helped a lot.with him. I also think cato is really benefiting from handling classes.
