| Hello Everyone,
I was very happy about the suggestions before about my sister huskies. Seems things have been getting better with a little behavior training however not a complete fix yet.
The issue is that when our girls act a complete 180 from inside the house and outside. Outside they are the best of friends playing and romping around the yard.
Inside the house however it is another story. Shousa is content staying in her cage however likes to take toys into her bed with her. Anytime her sister Yuki comes even remotely close she growls until Yuki either moves or we remove her. I think this is just Shousa being possessive however breaking it has been nearly impossible.
There are several times we need to break up their play in the house as it tends to borderline fighting. Yes, I know that they play rough but this is clearly not play.
Looking for advice, it just stumps me that they act so well outside but inside it's a battle royal and the last husky standing wins. My only thought is they are still playing the "I am the Alpha" game. |

| I am not sure it is just a crate thing as they change beds often, neither one is "their" domain per say.
I suppose it could be crate however I am wondering if Shousa is hording the toys "mine" and telling her sister to just back off.
Yuki is very hard on her toys and Shousa will at times bark at her when she starts to destroy them. Shousa is very gentle with the toys, one she protects with her life it seems "Blue Baby" which is a little dragon she has had since a baby herself.
I am very open to suggestions and I know trying to figure something out like this is at times impossible without in person help. |

| Does Shousa growl over all the toys or just her special toy? My parents used to have a mutt (we have no clue what breeds) that had a bunny baby toy that she played with from the time she was little. My brother threw it over the fence by accident one day and she back the neighbor and the neighbor's two rotties in the corner over her bunny toy. So if it is just that one toy it is because it is her baby. Just a thought.
If it is all the toys, can you take the toys away without growling? If not it may be toy agression and you will need to work on being able to take toys like you do food for food agression.
Other than than I'm not sure what to recommend. Hope this helps though. |
