2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

When did you all begin to bring your pup around other dogs?
I know theres the waiting period with the shots when the dogs a pup, but at around what age is a good time to start introducing him to other dogs? So my pup doesnt go crazy at every dog he sees.

If the other dogs are vacinated and healthy, you can do it right away. I actually started Elara in puppy class at 8 weeks old. The place was kept clean and the trainer only allowed vacinated dogs there. Puppy owners had to show proof of having at least one set of shots done.

I started Freya at 8 weeks. My friend has a retriever cross who is just a few weeks older then Freya. She is like a substitute litter mate for her.
She comes over for a few hours sometimes, or they have sleep overs either at my house or my friends.
Freya is actually having a sleep over at my friends house with her BFF (the retriever cross) tonight.

It all depends on personal preference. Some people say not until their first set of shots or booster shots. Others say right away since you want to take advantage of that particular stage of puppy development. I think you should have a talk with your vet and see what they would recommend based on the puppy's health etc. Mine said that it all came down to personal comfort.

Stark started going out for walks the second day he came home at 8 weeks. We met other dogs along the way - but be warned, those puppy teeth can be really sharp so I would always let people know not to get him too excited because of them.

Now that he's 4 1/2 months, he's a regular visitor at the Leash Free Dog Parks around my area! Smile

I would not recommend your taking him until he's vaccinated. He should have at least two of his boosters if not all. Too many people are careless about vaccinations and you don't want him ending up sick. Instead of taking Balon around other dogs so young, I had family members bring their fully vaccinated dogs here to play, that way I could control the health of the dogs Balon came into contact with. Better to be safe then sorry.
