| Long time Husky mom (17 years) but just stumbled across this forum today and wanted to jump in and say hi! So.....Hi! For backstory, my first husky, Dakota (or Sir Anheuser of the Dakotas) was my first best dog friend. He was a Christmas gift to me when he was six weeks old and sadly crossed over the Rainbow bridge last year at 16 years old. I miss him every single day. He and I went through a lot of life together. My next boy is Jackson, or just Jack. (Jackson's Blu Ridge Timber.) He is almost 7 and is my shadow. He is with me all the time and has a secret talent of being able to know before I have a seizure. He is also a Canine Good citizen and does therapy work with those that need it. He really is a good dog. My newest is lil Maxwell, Max. (Maxwell's Innoko Blu Shadow of Dakota). He came home to us on New Year's day this year at 6 weeks old and is from the same breeder as Jack. He and Jack are best friends and truly pack mates. Max is super mischievous and already wants to be alpha, but he has lots to learn. He is a big sweetheart though, and a fluff ball. Of my three boys, he has the softest coat. We also fostered many a Sib. over the years, all of them were red females. I don't know how that happened, but looking back at the pictures of them it is kinda strange how we always fostered reds. lol Looking forward to chatting with others who are also the alphas of their pack. Glad I found a place to 'talk husky! |

| Welcome as well from California. I'm sorry for your loss of Dakota. Must have been a wonderful 16 years. Great work Jack does for the community. Can't wait to see more pics. Max is definitely a fluffball. If he was 6 mos at NYD, he must be close to Jack's height by now. I'm sure your experience with huskies will be great addition to the forum for people new to the breed like myself. Looking forward to seeing more of your pack! |

Thank you, I really had a hard time after he passed. He sat by my side through a lot of trying times but every so often I get this feeling like he had just leaned into my legs like he used to do, and I know he is still with me. - benb023 wrote:

Thank you! It was a very good 16 years together. I will get to posting pics soon, I love to share Jack's work with others, and our crazy husky life in general. There's always some crazy dog doings going on...like recently they decided to try the slip n slide with my daughter. Now that was a hoot! |

| Hi. Welcome from Oregon.
I was in Sandy Springs last week visiting my mom. It was 106 the day I arrived While I was running the next AM, I wondered how my boy would do in that heat. Quite amazing. I was wiped out...
There is another member from Augusta on here. Hope she chimes in. Then you can have Georgia husky meet-ups. |

| Hello and welcome! What a touching intro you have. So sorry to hear of you're loss with Dakota, but I'm sure he lived a happy life with you and made lot's of good memories! Jack is a miracle dog! That's wonderful he's able to help you with you're seizures. I wish my pawpaw had a dog that was able to do the same for him. The two of you are lucky to have one another. Max is just a cute ball of fluffness! I too wonder if he is a wooly? Either way, what a gorgeous pup! I got my first Husky about two weeks before you welcomed Max into you're life. It's such a life changing experience adding a Husky into you're life. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you and learning from you're Husky experience! |

Definitely not easy. They are like our kids, for sure! Thank you...well, Max doesn't have wooly parents, but his hair sure seems wooly to me. I'm hoping it will thin out after this first blow. If not, then I guess I got a wooly. I'm thinking he is definitely a wooly. - jalepeno wrote:

If I update FB on my phone at my house, it says Sandy Springs, (if I do it on the laptop it says Marietta). Yes, so very hot here. The huskies have lil swimming pools, air-conditioning vents they each stake out on the tile floor and a few fans they ;ay in front of. Walks happen really early or really late these days. Much too warm for all of us! Yay, GA husky meet-ups! - Hayden_69 wrote:

He sat by my side through 2 times of having cancer, bedrest while pregnant and so much more. He was my best pal for so long. Jack is a great best friend though, too. He is soooo smart and so loyal. It is good to be loved by him. Aww, welcome to your new husky too. Very much a life changing experience. They are all so different. Great personalities. - hypers987 wrote:

| Welcome from up North. I have been complaining about the heat here and it has only been in the high 80's/low 90's. But for us that is hot and most homes do not have a/c. I also do early morning and late night walks, of course they are short walks seeing my boy is only 12 weeks. Look forward to any advice you have as a long time husky mom. |
